AOL Staffing

AOL has many staff tools to assist them in development.  Here's your chance to learn about them.
CAUTION: Be careful with these! You can get kicked off AOL for them!

To Access Heckers' Online's Staff Area

1. Goto KeyWord: "HO".

2. Click on the Heckers' Online graphic in the top left hand corner (it says Heckers' Online with a ";)").

3. When asked for Password, click "send" each time (for 3 times).

4. Welcome to the staff area.

RainMan - Download

First of all, let me tell you what Rainman does anyway. Its an employee Tool that accesses Forms by means of Tokens. Each and every form is assigned a series of numbers called a Token. Every Form on AOL is assigned a specific Token which can be accessed if entered in the Rainman Tool. (A form is just about any independent window you see on AOL.)

To enter a t1, u1, u2, u3 or u4 Token:

Click on Area Manager, then Show. A box will come up, in it will be a list box, scroll down to find favorite form, double click. Then there will be a catagory where you can choose t1, u1, u2, u3 and u4. Choose your token type, then enter the token number in the text box to the right. Next Enter a number between 1 and 5 in the Form Number Box (This will let you access the Form Later, it really doesn't matter what number you use) and click OK.(To enter any other type of Token, go to the section of my page entitled, "Tokens".)

Visual Publisher

Basically Visual Publisher is an employe used to create forms or .amp file. Just about everything on AOL was probably partly made with VPD. If you make or find an .amp file that is cool, send it to me by clicking here

Tokens

How to enter tokens:

Ok, before we go any further, please make sure you have Rainman and Visual Publisher properly installed. Now that we have them installed, lets begin!

This page will teach you to enter any type of Token except, t1, u1, u2, u3, or u4. All other Tokens require you to do a little editing.

1. With Notepad open VRMFORMS.INI located in your AOL30 folder. The file will look like this:

Now, make sure you follow this carefully, because it can get a little confusing! Take a look at this section of the file, its located near the begining.

Now, look at the part within the last are that says:

tokenarg=t1 0-1-9980

tokenarg2=t1 0-1-9980

See where it says t1? Thats the type of Token. Yes you can enter t1, u1, etc. here, but its a lot easier to do it the other way. See the next part that says 0-1-9452 or 0-1-9980 or 0-1-9452? Those are the actual Tokens. Now, if you haven't figured out what to do, thats sad, but I'll tell you anyway. Pic the Token type by editing the part that says t1, to the type you want, then change the part that contains the actual token. You need to make all the 3 different parts the same though. After you've done this, Sign on, if your not already on, Click on Area Manager then on Show. Then look for a catagory called Add. In that catagory find Favorite Form. Then in there will be a catagory called Rainman Form Number enter 1. You should then see a little yellow icon, double click it, and your in.

Art Press - Download

Again, let me explain what Art Press is. Art Press is used to edit .ART files, basically its the file format AOL uses to show images on AOL. Its like Gif, Jpg, Bmp or Tif but not as good. Unfortunatly though, thats the format AOL uses. With this program you can make or edit .ART files then use them on your .AMP files. Master AOL

Master AOL is similar to Rainman, except Master AOL uses Invokes. Unfortunatly this will only work on AOL 3.0 16 bit, it will not work for AOL 95! After you install it, you should see a little * next to the File menu. Sign on and click on the * you will see a list of options. I will only explain one, the others you can figure out on your own. The first option down will read Invoice DataBase Record, click on that and a little window will open up. Just enter your Invoke number there. The best way to find undisovered invokes (and there are a LOT of them) is to just enter a random number.

I do not have Master AOL on my site, because of lawsuits, but if I find a link, I'll post it.
