My friend, if you
don't already know Jesus Christ as your own
personal Saviour, and know without a doubt that you
have a home in Heaven with Him, then I'd like to
share some Scripture with you that I think will
help you better understand God's plan of salvation,
and how simple it really is to become a
Christian.
Romans 3:10
says "As it is written, there is none
righteous, no not one."
What this means is that
the Bible tells us NONE of us are "virtuous" or
"holy"; that no one can claim
innocence.
Romans 3:23 goes on
to say "For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God."
This verse says it
clearly enough, that everyone, meaning ALL of us,
have sinned. All people are sinners and are under
God's judgement. And since none of us are "pure"
and without sin, we often make mistakes in our
lives that are not pleasing to God. But even as
sinners, He STILL loved us, as this next verse
tells us.
Romans 5:8
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us."
God showed how great
His love was (and is) for us, by sending His Son,
Jesus, to die on the cross for us; even though we
were sinners, even though we've failed Him. It
doesn't matter what we've done, how bad we've been,
He loved us THAT MUCH, to DIE for us. He died for
you, for me, for everyone who has ever sinned --
which means everyone who has ever
lived.
Romans 5:12 tells
us "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death
passed upon all men, for that all have
sinned."
This verse takes us
back to when Adam chose to disobey God, there in
the Garden of Eden, and was then "separated" from
God by spiritual death. And throughout time, since
that first sin entered into the world, everyone who
has ever lived has been a sinner, just like Adam.
And that same "separation" from God still exists
today (and will remain, throughout man's earthly
existence) for all who are without Christ as their
Saviour. God gave us the freedom of choice, an
ability to choose whether or not to obey
Him.
Romans 6:23
says "For the wages of sin is death; but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord."
If we choose NOT to
obey Him, the price, or deserved punishment, for
our sin is death -- an eternal separation from God.
But if we DO realize and accept His wonderful gift
of salvation, being set free from our sin and
imperfection, then His Word gives us the assurance
that we CAN LIVE forever with Him. All we need to
do is admit that we're a sinner, confess our sins
to Him, and believe in Him in our
hearts...
As Romans 10:9,10
says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation."
If we admit to God that
we're a sinner, and that we believe He sent His
Son, Jesus, to die on the cross, so that our sins
could be forgiven, and that He raised Him frmo
death, our confession is then made unto
salvation.
Verse 11 then
says "For the scripture saith, whosoever
believeth on Him shall not be
ashamed."
Our whole life changes
when we come to Him in faith. No longer shackled
by the guilt of sin, we're free to serve Him,
without the shame of our past sins holding us back.
No matter what we've done, we have been acquitted;
our sins forgiven, our lives MADE CLEAN, because
of Jesus' shed blood.
And this next
verse, Romans 10:13, says "For whosoever
shall upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved."
It tells us that
ANYONE, and EVERYONE, no matter who we are, where
we're from, if we believe in Jesus, and call upon
His name, we WILL BE SAVED.
This includes YOU.
Are you ready right now to accept Jesus into your
heart? Would you allow me to pray with
you?
