Who Is Your Excuse
Who Is Your Excuse?

Hey, this is a perfectly good and sane
question! Okay, so you don't understand
it, let me explain. All too often someone
will say, "I'm like this because I was
abused as a child." "My parents didn't
give me enough attention when I was young."
Get the picture? So who is your excuse?

It's come to mind that I could blame my mom,
most certainly my dad. How about the man that
molested me when I was 10! You know what though?
The only one I can blame is me! No, I couldn't
do anything about the situation I was in. I can't
change it today! Yet, I am responsible for my
thoughts and my actions of today. I am responsible
for my own life. I can choose to continue to
blame the people in my life or I can be honest
and know that the only one responsible for me is me.

Is any of this making sense? YOU cannot make me
happy. I cannot make you happy. I can do things
that you might like, but I cannot control your
thoughts and your actions. I cannot change your
yesterday. You can't change your yesterday. You
can change the way you think about yesterday. You
can choose to settle the old issues and put them
to rest. You can overcome your old fears and bad
feelings. You can overcome anything you choose!
I don't mean to come down on you so hard. Really
I hope that you can come to terms with who you are
and where you want to go in life. Still though, an
important issue needs to be dealt with.

Again, who is your excuse?
