Not the case that ordinal, interval, and ratio measures must occur on scales that are restricted to positive integers.
All of the scale types can be used w/integers that take on positive or negative values.
Knowing whether set of measures has nominal, ordinal, interval or ratio properties is important because it affects the way scores can be interpreted.
Unless measures possess or approximate interval or ratio level, their interpretation is limited.
