Voyage Through Hades

And my face did wither

From the winds blowing (hither and thither)

Ashes and stench over the earth

Which stem back to a time of war,

But that was long ago...

I walk alone now.

My feet grow blistered and my legs wiry,

Yet I carry on this one way trek

Through what may be an earthly hell!

And my body is my proof of this.

Though so spent, I've been pondering nightly

About a time I can scarcely recall:

The time when the air did carry

A scent of lilac, love, the falcon and dove,

But that was long ago.
