USS CLEVELAND NCC-2450

The Federation Starship USS Cleveland, NCC-2450 is classified as an Ambassador-X-class starship. The vessel was originally constructed in 2349 as the last in the original Ambassador class ships. The vessel proved to be an asset after first contact with the Cardassian Union. After the aformentioned contact, the Cleveland stood border patrol duty to ward off Cardassian incursions into Federation space. At times, the Tholians became involved, forcing the Federation to initiate a series of raids against Tholian convoys. During such raids, the Cleveland was the ship leading a small battle fleet against identified targets.

Years later, during the brief Klingon Civil War, the Cleveland provided convoy escort to Federation frieghters that were assisting the allied Klingon forces lead by Gowron. The Cleveland herself destroyed a dozen Klingon Birds-of-prey and supported fleet action against seven Romulan Warbirds. Six weeks after the wars conclusion, the Cleveland was decommissioned. Upon decommissioning, all internal systems and componants were removed, and the ship was slated to be scrapped.

Within two years, the Klingons canceled the Klingon Accords and declared war against the Federation. Only months after the conclusion of that conflict, the Dominion began thier efforts to conquer the civilizations of the Alpha Quadrant. To make matters worse, the Borg launched a daring attack on Earth itself, causing the distruction of several dozen starships. Because of the combination of these three incidents, the number of Federation starships drastically reduced. Starfleet Command ordered the Corps of Engineers to recommission as many replacement starships as possible. When the engineers came across the Cleveland, they were forced to redesign the entire starship, virtually creating a new class. The class became know as the Ambassador-X-class. Able to participate in operations to eliminate the small pockets of Dominion resistance in the Alpha Quadrant, the redesigned Cleveland proved it was even more capable than the Galaxy-class starships; the very class that made Ambassadors obsolete 15 years earlier.

Now, the Cleveland is assigned as the flagship for the 12th Fleet(Deep-space). The ship and her crew will explore the outer edge of the galaxy as well ad protect the Federations flank from unknown and unseen enemies.

Fleet 12 Information and Statistics

The centerpiece of the 12th Fleet is what will be Starbase 50. Construction on the Starbase was started on June 19,2375, and is expected to take 4-6 weeks to complete construction. The Starbase will employ five fully capable starship construction facilities that will be primarily be used to repair starships. Approximatly 2000 personnel will be assigned, including a battalion of Marines with a total strength of 1100 officers and men.

The USS Devonshire is a Intrepid-class Starship and currently under the command of Commander Ian Handy. The vessel is currently assisting the people of the planet Dowe Cho with their warp ship program.

USS Vandergrift, NCC-27412

The USS Vandergrift is a Nebula-class Starship that is configured with an assult pod. The vessel has a compliment of 200 Marines under the command Captain David Thompson. The ship is under the command of Captain James Patterson and is currently surveying a Class-M world in Sector 4344.
