Spectro
DECEPTICON: Spectro
SUBGROUP: Reflector
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reconnaissance
ALTERNATE MODE: Camera
“Watch everything and everyone, but always watch your own back the closest.”
BIO: Spectro is the most simple-minded of the trio that comprises Reflector. He is largely a tool, useful only when someone points him in the right direction and gives him a direct order. When the three of them are working together, Spectro is always relieved that the responsibility is taken off his shoulders. Although he’s quick to accept credit, he’s also the first to assess blame on someone else to protect himself. His loyalty to his comrades, Viewfinder and Spyglass, is always in question if it seems they’ll get him in trouble.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES: Subject possesses above-average strength. He has exceptional skill at tracking and processing sensory information, making him excellent for reconnaissance or monitor duties. In robot mode, he’s armed with a chemical cannon that coats its targets with corrosives that damage their armor and makes them easier to spot visually. He joins with Spyglass and Viewfinder to form their Reflector camera mode [See Spyglass, Viewfinder].
WEAKNESSES: Without direct orders, Subject spends more time worrying how to shift blame in case something goes wrong than doing actual work.
Spyglass
DECEPTICON: Spyglass
SUBGROUP: Reflector
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reconnaissance
ALTERNATE MODE: Camera
“If it can be observed, it can be conquered.”
BIO: Spyglass is absolutely obsessive about his work, fro spying to monitor duty. He wants to find out everything he possibly can about everyone, mainly to better understand their weaknesses. When Viewfinder comes up with a scheme, Spyglass is always his giddy partner; he’s eager to do anything he can to get ahead. Spyglass often has to convince the wary Spectro to go along with their plans. He also has to work to keep him in the dark about as much of the plot as possible, knowing that Spectro would sell them out in a second if he thought it would help him.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES: Subject possesses above-average intelligence and strength. He has an uncanny eye for detail and an ability to process sensory information. In robot mode, he carries a laser rifle and a flash cannon that can blind enemies for up to 15 seconds with a burst of photons. He joins with his comrades Viewfinder and Spectro to form their Reflector camera mode [See Spectro, Viewfinder].

ALTERNATE MODE: Camera
“See and you know; know and you can destroy.”
BIO: Viewfinder is the leader of the Reflector trio, and he is by far the most despicable of the group. His love for observation matches the others’, but his ability to find fault in others in unmatched, even by Spyglass. Viewfinder waits for someone – friends, foes, and otherwise – to make a mistake, and them takes advantage any way he can. He’s particularly fond of blackmailing fellow Decepticons when he notices them shirking their duty or making some other error that would require punishment from their superiors. Viewfinder is absolutely thrilled that the group was assigned to monitor all of Cybertron’s hidden cameras and spying devices, since it provides him with a wealth of blackmail material.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES: Subject possesses above-average intelligence and strength. He has exceptional visual acuity and ability to track and process sensory information. Combines [see Combiners] with Spyglass and Spyglass [See Spectro, Spyglass] to form the Reflector camera. In camera mode, Reflector possesses infrared, X-ray, and energy wave sensors – it can track enemy movements in the dark, through objects, and from miles away. They can also utilize Spyglass’ flash cannon in this mode.
WEAKNESSES: Subject is often impressed with is own abilities that he is prone to overlooking his own mistakes.
TC's Take:
Poor Reflector. This one really got the shaft. The Con who does the shit work and gets nary a line. (basically TC's gonna be re-iterating from the quasi-dialogue just above) He does have a few moments when his camera form is used for photos. (that really good one with Thundercracker in MTMTE Part 1)
Reflector got a lot of exposure as background fodder in almost all Season 1 eps. Season 2, however, he only appeared in 7. (According to the list here courtesy of the Cybertron Chronicle That's right, 7. You see him in the earlier eps frequently, but as the season progressed, he...disappeared. Why? Well, if you watch, the poor guy hardly had a line, did grunt work and got beat up a lot.
This guy has a gob of potential as far as character was concerned. Unfortunately, not a lot of people see that. He is good at what he does/did, and makes no bones about it, borderlining on arrogance. As far as the blackmailing of associates, TC never saw that. Would LOVE to have seena that. *sigh* Unfortunately, TC doesn't know his comic bio and how he turns out, but plenty of toon goodness here! Or at least as much as she could find.
Season One:
Almost all of them! ;p The only ones TC knows for sure that he did NOT appear in were Ultimate Doom Parts 1 and 2, and most of Plague of Insecticons. (Interesting on PoI was that he appeared in the very end. Guess the animators forgaot he was not in the first 22 minutes or so...)
How many he spoke in? That's coming up...
Season Two:
Hang on to your hats: Autobot Spike, City of Steel, Traitor, Prime Problem, Golden Lagoon and Starscream's Brigade. Uh-huh. Going, going, gone...
He also made an appearance in TF:TM. TC personally didn't see it, the Cybertron Chronicle said so. She's gonna check...
Special thanks to Wayward for letting TC borrow this!
Pics, please!
How about...
