The Hellmouth
"You're standing on the mouth of hell..."
This is where I get to put my two cents in. I talk about what I find interesting in the show, characters I like (and don't), and where I raise points about the show that I may want feed back on.

Okay, Buffy is a much better person then I am obviously. I'm sorry, but these potential slayers come to Buffy's house, lay the problems of the world on her shoulders, ask her to protect them, provide for them, and train them, and then have the nerve to kick her out of her own house. I don't think so! I'd be telling them to get the hell out of my house. See how well you do providing for yourself.

I have to say... if I were Joss Whedon I would not be happy. You plan for this huge finale to really go out with a bang - one in which the death of one of your characters is planned - and another network is plastering info that said character is joining Angel next season. Kind of takes the bite out of the ending. Now, many people will be watching the finale saying "Well, he's not really dead, 'cus he's going to be on Angel next season." Bye, bye poignant moment!

Some thoughts on the final episode:
I loved the Spike/Angel jealousy... especially when we see Spike beating a punching bag, then see that he has drawn a picture of Angel - high forehead and all - and has taped it to the bag. Laugh out loud funny in my opinion. I also love the dialogue between Spike & Buffy: Spike tells her she can't stay in the basement with him; she can't bounce his feelings around like a rubber ball, he has his pride, besides, she has Angel breath. Buffy responds that she understands. Spike: Clearly you don't, that whole pride thing was a smoke screen. Buffy: Oh, thank God.
I liked the scene where the Core Four - Buffy, Xander, Willow, & Giles - are talking about what they will do the next day; shopping. Giles says: The earth is definitely doomed. Flashback to season 1 episode 2 "The Harvest" Giles: The earth is doomed.
At the end, Giles makes referrence to another hellmouth in Cleveland: Flashback to Season 3 "The Wish". In an alternate universe where Buffy had never come to Sunnydale, Giles tries to contact Buffy's watcher and says - I'm sure there is alot of demonic activity in Cleveland, but it just so happens Sunnydale is on a Hellmouth...
Overall, there were several scenes I liked, but aside from the Hellmouth being closed - finally - it didn't feel like the end. It did, however leave lots open for a spinoff, and for guest spots on Angel.
My thoughts on Spike's "death"
James Marsters has been slated to play Spike for ten episodes in the upcoming season of Angel, but ten episodes is a little much for it to be flashbacks of Angel's past. My prediction of how they will bring Spike back is as follows:
In Angel season 1 there is a prophecy of a souled vampire who "Shanshus" or is given life as a reward for his part in averting the apocalypse. Now, since this was a storyline that was brought about on Angel, it would be only right that it should come to pass on Angel. Perhaps said souled vampire had to sacrifice himself to save the world to achieve this reward. Spike could have walked away, Buffy even told him to - that he had done enough; but he didn't, he chose to stay and see it through to it's inevitable conclusion, knowing full well that he would die. So, it is my belief that he will be brought back to life as reward for his sacrifice, fulfilling the prophecy that was thought to be Angel's destiny. I see lot's of jealousy in the future of Angel.

My thoughts on what Buffy & The Scoobies will be doing during the next season of Angel: Finding all those newly activated slayers and rebuilding a new Watcher's Council - a modern one. After all, you can't leave young girls with super powers to their own devices; take Faith for example. She felt her being a slayer put her above the law. Future Slayer Academy maybe?
In the meantime, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Willow spin off, that hopefully, The WB will allow crossovers between it and Angel.

The future of this site:
Though Buffy the Vampire Slayer may be ending, I do hope to follow any spin off that might come to light. However, if a spin off doesn't happen, I may convert this sight to Angel. There is also a possibility that I may decide to do a web site for Charmed, another of my favorites - maybe I'll do all three, or both, as the case may be... that is, if I can get back into the swing of things with Charmed. I'm very disappointed over Julian (Cole) leaving the show. He was my favorite character. Anyway, before I go off on a totally non-Buffy tangent, this site will remain in one form or another.
