29.9.02 update ...
The club now has a new address for this website - it's at
www.dwacc.co.uk It's the same site so the old address will still work but it's a bit long winded so a domain name has been created and it's easier to remember!

Louise Jameson has recently taken part in the clubs second official signing session. She signed a quantity of blank index cards and one will be given out FREE to the first TWENTY people who have sent in their SAE's for the October newsletter to celebrate the club's first birthday on the 5th October. Most have now been allocated however! Many thanks indeed Louise!

The DWACC has held its first official signing seesions. The first with Warriors' Gate and Terminus writer Steve Gallagher who signed a collection of blank index cards for us, stamped with his own Terminus-style stamp, for the charity auction. One was sent to everyone who successfully bid in the auction. The second signing is currently being kept under wraps but will be announced in the October issue of "The Collector", the official newsletter, when the club celebrates its first birthday!

The clubs charity auction is now closed and has raised £575 for the National Asthma Campaign.

The club is now official! It has now been fully recognised by the Doctor Who Appreciation Society (DWAS) and registered as a Local Group, by the Autograph Club of Great Britain (ACOGB) and by FACE (For Autograph Collectors Everywhere), the two main UK autograph collecting clubs.

I have now been accepted as a team member for the Autograph Club of Great Britain as their Doctor Who "expert"!

*** WORLD EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS ***
There have been three interviews exclusively to the clubs newsletter "The Collector" - Graham Cole (April), India Fisher, who I met when the play she was touring in arrived at the theatre where I work (May) and ex-Page 3 Girl Linda Lusardi, who appeared in BBV's "The Zero Imperative" (June - with an AMAZING signed photo!). Sadly there are no copies of these issues left.

On Sunday 10th March I went to the Memorabilia event at Birmingham's NEC and had a great day. Met Sylvester McCoy, Yee Jee Tso (really nice guy), Shane Rimmer and the lovely Caroline Munro. Got some nice autographs from all these and Sylvester, Yee and Caroline all signed my programme which I will be donating to the charity auction.

Autographica in May was fun but the only Doctor Who related guests there were Paul Darrow ("Timelash") and Shane Rimmer ("The Gunfighters").

In June myself and fellow club member John Ashworth travelled to Blackpool to see Mary Tamm in the play "When We Are Married". Mary had already agreed to meet us after the play and she was a joy to meet. She signed a load of stuff for us including books, photos and our programmes. Hopefully there may be other visits to plays in the coming months.
