    Hotaru doesn't appear until Sailor Moon S, where she is befriended by Rini. Hotaru is a shy girl and doesn't have many friends. Most of the people at her school thinks she's weird. Hotaru lives with her dad at home and doesn't spend time with him. In Sailor Moon S, Hotaru is possessed by Mistress 9 because she took over her body in an accident that professor Tomoe created. Mistress 9 promised to bring Hotaru back if Tomoe helped her carry out these plans or whatever. Sailor Saturn is the scout of destuction. Her power is great enough to destroy a planet. Overall, however, Hotaru is a very sweet girl who befriends Rini in Sailor Moon S.
