Susan Sto Helit
Name: Susan Sto Helit, aka Susan Death
Book: Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series
The Discworld's premier Goth Princess (though she finds it quite
embarrassing
really) is truly one of a kind. Part human, part Anthropomorphic
Personification, she is both the Duchess of Sto Helit and the
granddaughter
of Death. Yes, Death. Tall skinny fellow with a scythe.
Susan has
inherited
(through some strange magical genetics) some of Granddad's attributes
such
as being able to walk through walls and stop Time, and sometimes gets
pressed into service doing his job, but she much prefers working as
an
anonymous-as-possible governess and schoolteacher.
Susan doesn't have
much in the way of a love life - it's hard to be romantic and
dewy-eyed
when you're congenitally incapable of seeing things as anything but
exactly
what they are.
