Background: Kaylee is the gifted mechanic on the trading (and smuggling) vessel Serenity, her first ever real job. She gained a love of engines from her father and jumped at the chance to work on a real spaceship, being offered a job when their previous engineer was found to be less than satisfactory and Kaylee spotted the problem, and the solution, almost immediately.
Kaylee is a sunny and happy-go-lucky young woman, who makes the best of any situation the finds herself in. She seemingly loves her life on Serenity, and isn’t at all concerned by the criminal activities of the crew, except when she is forced to become involved in battles.
