Background: Kate Pulaski was Chief Medical Officer of the USS Enterprise-D during 2365. A gifted physician, she was the author of ‘Linear Models of Viral Propagation’, the definitive text on that subject for many years. But she was even more concerned with the human side of medicine, empathising deeply with her patients and relying on skill and common sense more than advanced technology to treat them.
Kate became good friends with Deanna Troi after delivering her son. She also grew to like Data, after becoming used to the fact that he was an android. She and Captain Picard had a great admiration for one another, but often clashed. She was often stubborn and argumentative, but also incredibly compassionate and demonstrative.
Kate has been divorced three times, and remains on good terms with all three men. She also had a relationship with Kyle Riker.
