Background: Chiana is a Nebari, a race that establishes peace by wiping all violent thoughts from the mind. Chiana and her brother escaped their homeworld and fled, doing whatever it took to survive. Eventually, they split up against Chiana’s wishes, and she wandered the universe, stealing, conning, and sleeping with whoever she encountered until the Nebari caught up with her. When her jailer’s ship ran into Moya (literally), she escaped and eventually joined the crew, though no one trusted her. Over time, she grew to care about her shipmates and learned about responsibility and loyalty instead of simple survival. She began to use her infamous talents for their advantage, especially her sexuality, even if it got them in trouble as much as it helped. She and Ka D’Argo began a simple affair, but soon they realized the relationship had grown deeper than they’d expected. When Chiana learned her brother still lived and now led the resistance against the Nebari government, she found a new determination in the hope that her life would eventually lead her back to him. Combined with the burden of visions that are robbing her sight, Chiana has grown up a lot in a little amount of time and will lay her life on the line for others, especially those who remind her of how she started life.
