Cheery Littlebottom
Name: Cheery, or Cheri, Littlebottom
Book: Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series
Cheery, sometimes aka Cheri, Littlebottom is the Disc's first-ever
forensic
detective and the leading feminist of Dwarfkind. After rapidly making
a
name for herself in the Watch, Cheery started scandalising the Ankh-
Morpork Dwarf community by wearing high-heeled boots, leather
skirts and (gasp) a touch of make-up. Since all Dwarfs are bearded,
helmetted and traditionally referred to as "he" (which makes Dwarfish
courtships a long and complicated process), this was scandalous
indeed.
But after Cheery helped save the life of Low King Rhys Rhysson at
"his"
coronation, the new King had a quiet word with her and confessed that
in the fullness of time, "he" might well do a bit of Coming Out. If
this
happens, it can be said that Cheery Littlebottom will have changed
the
face of Dwarf society. And the clothing!
