The LAWSON VAMPIRE novels are set in Boston, where Lawson lives. In this series vampires are real! They live amongst us but we don't realize it.
The vampire form of government is known as the VAMPIRE COUNCIL. This vampire council made the laws and hires Fixers (like Lawson) to enforce them. The Council have been in both books but we are not familiar with any of the members besides Arvella.
Fixers are like vampire police officers. They enforce the laws. The Laws mentioned in the books are: 1. Vampires cannot kill the humans they are feeding off of. 2. Vampires are forbidden to fall in love with humans. Fixers are mainly responsible for upholdign the first law, the punishment being death.
Some terms are:
Invokers= Vampires who can raise vampire spirits.
Elders= Old and wise vampires such as Wirek.
Loyalists= Humans who know about the vampires and are willing to help them (Jon F. Merz has used this term for his fans).
