A ship approaches the Andromeda with a human pilot who has a message for Dylan from his long-lost fiancé, Sarah. The video message, recorded after Dylan and Sarah last met (back in time), we see that she is preggers. The pilot (Jamahl) informs Dylan that Sara founded a haven for the surviving crew and families of the Andromeda. The crew go through Slipstream to the hidden-away planet Tarazed.
Dylan is chuffed to find a thriving democracy and a huge welcoming party. Now Dylan's back they're holding an election on whether or not to rejoin the Commonwealth. Among the opposition is Admiral Telemachus Rhade - a descendant of the Nietzchien that betrayed Dylan, Gaheris Rhade.
Rekel Ben-Tzion is the friendly face (or is she...) who wants to restore the Commonwealth. The election is held and Rhade wins. Shortly after this four Magog ships enter the system - but they soon leave without doing a thing. Jamahl goes after the ships anyway, destroying one but getting himself kills.
Rommie says the ships weren't real Magog ships and were in fact created on Tarazed! Dylan demands a private meeting with Rhade. Needless to say the meeting ends in violence. But all is not as it seems when both men realise that Rekel is actually behind the whole scam.

Review
Well the return of Andromeda to
our screens was a tad disappointing. I just couldn’t get into it. Politics can
never quite hold my attention. The flashbacks to Dylan and Rhade were a weak
touch to the storyline and it was blindingly obviously that someone was going to
stab someone else in the back.
The only nice touches in this
episode were Harper and his quote about all Commonwealth people being insane
psychopaths ..... “present company excluded” ! And then Tyr’s “Never
trust a Nietzchien.....except me.”
James Marsters next episode. All
together now - Ooooooohh.....
