*Walking to the center of the Camp, Our wonderful Winterhome *S*
!!ATTENTION ATTENTION!! Silence in the Camp please!! Take all conversations to PM from here on out!
*Waits till the Camp is stilled and A/all eyes and ears are on Me*
*smiling joyfully* My Family, Friends, W/wellwishers, G/guests and inahans! We gather here to celebrate the joining of our Chief Kahintokapapa and our Choonweh Honyeduh Wachinape on this beautiful autumn night. The stars are in abundance overhead, in infinite measure of the Love these Two Wonderful People share for One Another both in camp and Their r/t lives!
Let Us celebrate this blessed Event with Them together as One Family!
Now we ask the Blessings and Benedictions of our Ancestor Spirits to guard and protect this Loving Couple as they join together as One.
*Looks to You both for a long moment seeing deeply into Your souls before turning to pick something up at Our feet by the fire*
*Taking a burning rope of precious sage and wafting the thick pleasant smelling smoke over Our Three bodies, letting it be inhaled as I call the Spirits to Us and begin the Ceremony of Free Companionship*
May the words of Our mouths and and the meditations of Our hearts be always acceptable to Thee, Spirits of our People and Ancestors, Our Strength and Our Protection!
I call the Spirits of Our People to hear the Words I speak for My Tribe and the Two who come to be joined as One after so long Intended!
Come now to this happy place and bring the blessings and wisdom of ages to this happy Couple.
Spirits Of My Tribe! Spirits of My People! Spirits of My Ancestors! Take and Consecrate the Minds, Hearts, and Souls of Our Chief and Choonweh as They leave behind Their time of solitary life and take up the responsibilities of Home, Fire, and Family, walking always in Truth, Light, and Love!
Guide Them wherever They may be, keeping Them unspotted from the World. Strengthen Them when They Stand, Comfort Them when discouraged or sorrowful, and in Their Hearts may the peace which passeth Our understanding dwell within Them forever.
If any Free may show just and valid cause why these Two should not be entered into Contract and Their Union Consecrated by the Spirits let Them speak openly now and show the cause before Us all or remain silent for all time... *Looking about the assembled faces closely*
*Hearing no voice raised in contest to this Contract I continue, turning to Chief Kahinto and Honyeduh* Kneel before Me facing each Other and take each Other's hands in Your own please*
*pouring the drops of sacred oil upon Your heads as You kneel before Me* I consecrate these Two as They come together as One. *looping a long, thin, beaded leather thong loose around your joined hands*
*Turning to Chief Kahinto* Do You, Chief Kahinto, finding the Contract to Your satisfaction, and the Love You feel for this Woman of Our tribe take the Free Woman Honyeduh to be Your Free Companion? To love Her and to hold Her, to have in Your lodge, to be the Mother of Your Children, and to fulfill completely all the terms of this sacred Contract?
*Turning to Choonweh Honye* Do You, Choonweh Honyeduh, finding the Contract to Your satisfaction, take Our Chief Kahintokapappa to be Your Free Companion, to love Him and to hold Him, to live in His lodge, to become One with His Tribe, to be the Mother of His Children, to Obey and Support Him in ALL things and in ALL ways, and to fulfill completely all the terms of this sacred Contract?
*Satisfied I turn to Both once more, and searching Your eyes one last time, I make a quick, small, slice with My ceremonial quiva across the palms of your hands and press them together to let the blood mingle and flow together as One Being*
Spirits of Our Tribe! Spirits of Our People! Spirits of Our Ancestors! Bear witness to the sacred Oaths and Bindings that have been done this day under the stars of Our night sky and in the sight of all who dwell beneath it!
Before I unwrap the Covenant bond is there any words You wished to say to One Another or this Assembly now present?
*Offers each of You a sip of the finest red ka la na in turn from a small bone and silver drinking bowl to seal the Contract and end the Ceremony*
It is done!! *Happy Smile as I begin removing the Covenant bond from Your hands* Arise and walk together as One!! Congratulations to You Both! *warm smile as I give You each a hug of congratulations*
Please join with Me in offering congratulations and well wishes to the happy Couple! *wide smile*
