On the bridge, Ensign Kim detects a large structural array which fires bursts of energy at regular intervals. The Maquis ship, seemingly abandoned, drifts nearby.
Kim takes a reading of their position and learns they have been pulled 70,000 light years across the galaxy to the Delta Quadrant.
One by one the crew members vanish until the Emergency Medical Hologram is left totally alone.
The crew find themselves on what appears to be a backward world peopled by simple farm folk....
....this soon proves to be an illusion as they are subjected to a series of painful and invasive tests.
