Light 'Mechs mass from 20 through 35 tons. It is possible to build 'Mechs as light as 10 tons, but they are usually too small and fragile to serve as regular combat units. Most light 'Mechs are cheap, fast, and weak making them exceptional scouters. However, some 'Mechs are designed as stop-gap combat and support units, mostly for garrisons.
