ARTICLE I
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Committee to keep track of and be aware of those persons who have formally joined, and WHEREAS, such processes must be consistent, it is hereby RESOLVED that in all future incidences and occasions of de novo membership, such new members ('posters' or 'newbies') of the Committee shall state their intention to join by means of posting (in the manner of their choosing) to the PSI PHI DEEP SPACE NINE MESSAGE BOARD ('the board') in a coherent and intelligible form, their notification of intent to join. Such notification shall be considered by the membership at large to be necessary and sufficient for purposes of joining, and the poster shall, upon completion of the act, have conferred upon them all of the privileges and responsibilities of any other member of the Committee. It shall be noted that the inclusion of electronic mail addresses would be greatly appreciated, but is not made mandatory by this Measure.
ARTICLE II
WHEREAS, the spreading of the truths of Committee is of paramount importance to its success, and WHEREAS, such publicity does not spring forth from the vital air, and WHEREAS, it is now possible to disseminate the positions of the Committee by means of the new Web Site, be it RESOLVED that all members of the Committee who do not possess such pages of their own, shall be requested and required to list the Committee Home Page as their own, particularly as regards the capabilities of this board to present such information, and generally on other such boards and places where the message of the Committee may be received. Members already in possession of personal sites may list the Committee Page voluntarily, but are not required to do so; similarly, members who erect such a personal page after adoption of this Measure will not be required to present the Committee Page as their own. Translation: Issue I says that in order for new members to join, they have to post to Psi Phi that they want to join, ("My name is ________ and I would like to join the VRC.") and when they do, they have (joined, that is). Email addresses aren't required, but we'd like to have them. Issue II says that if you haven't got a personal homepage listed or used here, you have to use the VRC page. If you get a homepage, you don't have to use the VRC one anymore.
How elections work:
They're basically held whenever someone calls for it, i.e. when somebody wants a new ornately-titled position.
See? Pretty simple, huh? And unlike other committees, you don't have to attend regular meetings.
