Please remember
that "The Dark" is
NOT the force in any way, shape, or form.
It is a completely
separate concept.
This also means
that the actual concept of "The Light" as well as "The Dark" are not
restricted to
the Star Wars Genre i.e. "The Force" and can apply to fantasy and sci-fi
realms as well.
The
Concepts of The "Dark"
The Dark unlike The Light,
is not used for defense, or to aid others. The Dark is twisted and evil
Its tendencies are to kill,
injure, maim, traumatize, and inflict pain on others. Unlike a Light Wielder
The Dark manifests itself
as a source of power to its corrupted host. A Light Wielder would have
honor
and a conscience. However
a Dark Wielder need only a lust for revenge, or a lust to take lives without
remorse. In short The Dark
is the corrupted side of The Light. Its color unlike The Light is a deep
crimson
blood-red hue, and takes
more of a toll on its host. It however can perform more devastating attacks
then
The Light can. The Light
however is only stronger then The Dark, because it takes less of a toll
on its host.
However in exchange for
a heavy price, The Dark can inflict massive damage on anyone who would
be caught in
its wake. A sadistic enough
master can easily rip a person's body to shreds, or inflict massive emotional
scars that
would take years to heal
on their psyche. The main weapons of The Dark are used to kill and injure
opponents, but also to isolate, and trap them as well, with powers such
as Dark Thorns, or Dark Chains.
Few who are ensnared in
The Dark's clutches, can escape them. For this reason The Dark is wielded
by
twisted, and evil individuals
bent on only one thing...to bring about tragedy.
Be it by a death of a loved
one, the corruption of the innocent, or the forced servitude of the strong
willed.
Make no mistake that The
Dark is one of the most devastating forces ever devised on the side of
evil
Even a Master of The Light
must be careful, for though The Light is stronger, enough damage sustained
from
The Dark's power, can overwhelm
even the most powerful of healing tactics The Light has to offer.
Most importantly is that
in the case of bondage or servitude, the stubborn, and strong of heart
are a great
deal harder to break, then
those of a more innocent nature. This brings about a battle of wills in
which only
one side will win. Time
always reveals the FINAL outcome.
The
History of The Dark Before Val
Since The Dark never manifested
itself in the Star Wars Realm. The Dark has two histories, one
of which takes place in
an alternate fantasy realm and the other an alternate dimension. The Dark
was
only speculated to have
been one of those things you would find a myth. None of The Light worshipers
ever experienced The Dark,
and if they did they were never heard from to tell the tale. In the past
however
prior to The Light's discovery,
there were findings that supported that The Dark existed at the same time
as
The Light at one time, but
was soon forgotten and ignored.
The
Curtain Tears
(Val)
(Fantasy Realm - Aiemara)
In this dimension of time,
The Dark was acquired by C'ire T Negun. C'ire had stumbled upon a structure
known as the "Dark Library",
King Mordric had sealed the building off, because he was jealous that
he could never translate
any of the books, maps or charts within. Nor could the best translators.
Much like Val, C'ire tried
to read the various items and failed. However unlike "Destiny" laying in
the shadows, emitting light, with cobwebs upon it. C'ire found the sword,
which is now known as "Devastation" in a pool of molten lava. Unlike Val
pricking his finger on Destiny's blade. C'ire had to decide how much he
lusted to hold the magnificent onyx blade blade, he had to make a choice
and he put his hand in the lava, and pulled out the sword, with his flesh
melted all the way to the point, he could see his own bones around the
hilt. He too passed out from
the immense pain, and his
DNA was rearranged with The Dark's essence. But unlike Val who recovered
and read
the text. C'ire was aged
by 5 years, and he had to struggle to discover the powers The Dark had
to offer. He
translated the ancient text
and learned of what the elders knew of The Dark. But he was the actual
person
twisted enough to re-write
the entire history on The Dark. Unknown to him that The Dark would one
day destroy
its host body and live in
another. C'ire however was blinded by his discovery of the Dark's potential
for destruction.
He was overwhelmed with a
lust for vengeance on both Mordric and Val. With that burning anger inside
him
C'ire became a formidable,
and practically unbeatable "Master of The Dark". The first act of his reign
of terror was his revelation to Gen Zeridian's "Guild" that he was a traitor,
and to add further damage to his rival Valaryc Versai, he murdered Gen
before his very eyes, forever scarring Val emotionally, and leaving him
a shattered man. C'ire then had Val taken to King Mordric's castle, where
he had Val tortured to the bring of death, then against his wishes Mordric
had Val tied to a tree, left in a forest...supposedly leaving him from
the wolves, and for death. Meanwhile C'ire ravaged several cities
and burned them to the ground in King Mordric's name, enslaved many women
in his services, and not only took their innocence, but turned them as
corrupt and evil as he is. even discovering the technique to "blood bond"
with his most favorites, passing on to them The Dark, in limited quantities,
and made them his personal assassins. In due time he sent them out to hunt
down and systematically destroy his enemies. C'ire knew that a women was
far more deadly an assassin then a man, for women not only had the
dark tendencies to get what they wished, but also the ability to heat a
man's lusts and easily seduce their prey.
C'ire soon tired of his service
to King Mordric, and one night assassinated him, not only betraying Mordric,
but
flaunting the very thing
Mordric lusted for...The powers of The Dark. With Mordric gone, C'ire declared
himself King and set out to bring about his evil upon everyone in the land.
He sent out his Dark "Children" to every corner of Aiemara, and captured
numerous lands, making him the most powerful person on the face of the
planet.
It was only when his "Guild"
of Dark Wielders encountered Valaryc Versai, and failed in their attempts
to either
seduce or destroy him, that
C'ire began finding the most sadistic men in the land, and soon before
long had
become the "Father" of The
Dark Race, where by over a hundred men and women were under his service
as
slaves and assassins, which
he brought up against the only "Master of The Light" Valaryc Versai.
In an epic battle, Val was
severely injured, and was forced to flee. Having no other alternative,
Valaryc sought out
the most noble to his cause,
and created an army of his own "Light Wielders". this band of friends and
allies
he considered "family" loyal
enough to die for their "Masters" cause, managed to completely eradicate
C'ire's Dark Race.
In response, C'ire systematically slaughtered as many Light Wielders as he could find, killing over 75% of Val's "family" of friends and allies. In the end, all that is known is that Valaryc and C'ire squared off in a final battle, between The Light, and The Dark. In the end Valaryc lost his life, and C'ire was trapped for all time within his own private hell. Though Val was killed, he sacrificed his life for the lives of an entire planet.
Strangely enough, in a massive
display of shimmering light, known as Phoenix Resurrection, Val was resurrected
by The Light itself, and
soon after with The Dark completely gone from the realm. The Light's presence
disappeared
from Val's influence, leaving
him a moral again, and the new king of a prosperous land, but before it
left the realm
it bestowed the one thing
in life, Val would ever wish for...
The resurrection of his lover...
Gen Zeridian...
(Alternate Universe)
In another time frame, an
alternate dimension where magic exists, and vampires, and curses, specters
and undead live, The Dark
emerged in an entirely different light. Instead of The Dark fusing with
C'ire T Negun.
C'ire was long dead, and
Val was the ONLY "Master of The Light", only his re-established family
had the powers of The Light. He had rebuilt the Versai name, after Krevlin's
influence left him the only blood related survivor of Versai heritage in
the galaxy. Val had chosen people he cared for, and only had one blood-related
child named Krystal.
In this realm Val had a wife
named Katelyn Versai or "Kitty" Versai, a sister named Taluna, another
named Beizun and a brother named Matthew. In this realm, they were all
adopted. However another presence would soon emerge
within the Versai family,
a presence older then either could comprehend.
It emerged in the most unlikely of family members, and emerged in a devastating manner. Through Taluna, Val's sister the essence, twisted and evil known as "Shiair" took over her body and her actions this essence was not your typical vampire race, though it exuded qualities of a vampiric nature it was far less vulnerable, but still drank blood from its victims through the use of fangs. This left Taluna completely unaware of what she did to others having been a former vampire, Shiair used her guilt, and her body to re-turn her to a vampire once again, but not in the traditional manner, leaving the signs of a vampire within her, such as a hunger for blood and the trademark fangs, but none of the weaknesses to sunlight, lack of reflection and so on.
One day within the Mos Eisley Cantina, Taluna had been having problems with "Shiair" but had seemingly been able to control them. However this would prove to be a clever deception, for Shiair only wanted Valaryc to perceive this, as well as the Versai family. In due time however Shiair decided she was tired of playing the docile one, and seeked to gain the ultimate power she knew of, The Light. Valaryc Versai was the only one with the highest concentration of it so Shiair devised that she would use his own sister to get close enough to take it from him.
Playing off Val's sympathies
for his sister, she used Taluna's body and emotions to make Val question
his love
and trust for his own family
member. When Tal and Val embraced in a loving hug, Shiair struck with a
vengeance, driving her glistening fangs into Val's neck, partaking of his
rich Light baring blood. The Light was for the first
time compromised by evil,
tainted by pure lusts of power and destruction. In this matter of time,
Val's body was drained to the point, The Light could not replace his blood-loss
fast enough and he was killed. However after the events of his death, The
Light now was introduced into Taluna's body, and was torn like a curtain
between its loyal and honorable master, and a dark and evil master. In
response half of The Light returned to Val's control, and half of The Light
became corrupted and turned blood red, into Taluna's body.
This now left The Light in two parts, The Light and The Dark. This would also leave two masters, one The Master of The Light, and the other The Master/Mistress of The Dark. Val was resurrected by The Light, and Shiair was resurrected in her own way by The Dark. With The Dark pumping through Taluna's veins, it allowed Shiair to take over Taluna's body completely, leaving Tal's part of her psyche alone, and helpless to watch what Shiair did to her own family, and unable to stop her.
After Val returned from death, he was a changed man in the fact that he for once felt what it was like to be vulnerable, and to taste death. He became more cautious of everyone he knew, even his own family. Shiair on the other hand enslaved her own "family" especially Beizun Versai, an innocent family member who could very easily succumb to her wishes. In an epic struggle, Shiair would have Beizun by her side, then leave Matthew and the other male Versai in dire straights. However the track of evil did not stop there. After Shiair discovered that even though her power was derived from Val that one time, it was not permanent.
In order for her to continue to wield The Dark, and fuel its potential, she had to continuously feed off the blood of her own "family" since they were the only source of The Light in the galaxy. She would attack her own brother Val again, and stalk him when she felt her supply was getting low...feeding off his flashbacks, off his emotional states during his "death", enough to traumatize Val into submission several times over.
However, one day Shiair noticed that Val had seemed to disappear for weeks at a time. During this time, Val was retraining himself with the powers of The Light, re-discovering how to defend himself, and raise his potential. In an epic scale battle, his training paid off as Shiair was defeated, exhausting her supply of The Dark, and losing her hold over Taluna's body. In the end she was banished to a prison, never heard from again.
In the battle, whatever that was left of The Dark, returned to The Light, and the 50/50 rip was repaired, leaving Val the sole Master of The Light once more.
Until another arrived.....
(The Dark's Revival)
Many years passed, with no problems, no signs of The Dark in the Versai family. However another unknown member emerged from the past, overlooked and forgotten. Shiair had a sister... and her name was Angelique.
Angelique wasted no time in making herself known, going after Val's wife first in secret, enslaving her against her will under her control to get to the source of her lusts for power, much like her sister before her. Using Kitty as her pawn, Angelique lured Val into a state of vulnerability and used his own wife to attack him, much like Shiair, Val again was drained of his Light baring blood, but not by his sister..by his own wife...
Angelique then bit his wife, taking the power from her into her own body, making her the newest "Mistress of The Dark". This then led on to several battles, in which both sides suffered casualties. One incident however left Val's psyche split in two. After he was bit a second time, and left for dead...Angelique attempted to destroy him by draining Val past the point of death, with The Light fighting off her advances...she failed.
She then became enraged and attempted to blast Val's fallen body to bits. The Light defended the attack and all seemed fine..as Val recovered. However as time went on Val displayed darker tendencies and soon discovered that in all his attempts to avoid being "turned" The Light was too weak to counter the effects, and he soon displayed vampire like tendencies, in terms of his hunger and even fangs.
After a time Angelique discovered this and fed off his lust, and his desire, his pain, and his misery. She soon discovered that Val had been noble, and honorable by denying his dark roots in the past, using her limited control Angelique tore open the curtain that held Val's darker tenancies in check. In a showdown with Val finally confronting his evil within himself, by trying to destroy his "Mistress", whom bound Val with emotional chains and a Dark Bracelet, he was caught in a blast, when his Light burst, collided with Angelique's Dark burst, and was intensified by his family's "Destiny Ray of Light". This tore not only his psyche in two, but his dark from his light side and gave birth to a completely separate entity known as "Crimson Val Versai"
Crimson was everything that
Val was not, every evil thought, every evil desire that Val denied, Crimson
embraced.
With all his evil though,
Crimson went on to enslave several Versai women, but his most formidable,
the one with the most impact on him was Beizun Versai.
When he enslaved Bei, he
didn't treat her like a normal slave, he found in her a fondness that matched
that of
love, the girl's innocence
was taken, and corrupted but no matter how hard he tried, he could not
bare to see her turned as evil as himself. This displayed a weakness in
the once thought unstoppable evil.
In a final epic battle, Angelique became jealous of Crimson's "slave" and attempted to kill Bei, for the first time after subduing and seemingly killing Valaryc Versai, by stabbing him through the chest, Crimson hurled himself infront of Angelique's energy burst, meant to kill Bei on impact. Severely damaged, Crimson decided that if he were to lose Bei, for the purposes of his evil nature, he would do the one thing that would both strike a devastating blow to Angelique, and what was right for himself...Crimson impaled himself on Destiny...
This left Angelique shattered, and vulnerable for the first time, allowing the Versai family to finally destroy her once and for all, as well as the limited re-emergence of her sister Shiair, who had tried to return as her own entity, this time not with the aid of Taluna's body.
In the end, Angelique, Shiair,
and Crimson were all destroyed. The Versai family was shaken, and Val was
critically
injured, but The Light and
love prevailed...and The Dark was no more.
The
Cost of Using The Dark
The costs of using the Dark
are very similar to the costs a Dark Wielder
must pay.
This runs on the same theory of molecular balance...if you tap the molecules
in the atmosphere and over exert its delicate balance, the Dark takes your
strength in return.
This only taxes you if you use the healing properties to close a major
wound that would take alot of
molecules to repair, be
it weakness, loss of blood, tearing of a organ..etc. etc.
The most taxing and most powerful healing power is known as
[ Sadistic Revival ]
If this is used on another...the
user will suffer extreme fatigue, often falling unconscious for quite some
time...
recovering as he/she sleeps...if
used to resurrect yourself...you will be fully charged with
power, able to do amazing
things...but once at peace, the user loses consciousness and collapses...
again his/her body healing
itself while the user sleeps.
WARNING!!!!
If used too often at one
time, the user can over exert themselves and slip into a comma....
if this happens the user
must fight internally to stay alive, while the people around them...
fight to bring the user
out of it.
Golden Rule of the Dark
The more bigger/extravagant
the power/object you make...the more molecules you tap, and the more taxing
it
will be on your strength.
Use The Dark with care...little things like teleporting, drinks...they
do not take much...but lightning, fire, shields...these do take their toll.
The Dark is NOT stronger and nor is The Light, both have their own checks
and balances.
HOWEVER With the
Dark it is not permanent like the Light, each use of The Dark weakens
your supply you corrupted
from the Light Wielder, thus it MUST run out, to replenish it....
you have to do the same
thing you did to receive it in the first place, that is the price
for the evil you wish to
possess.
