Stargate Command Operations Memo

   Subject : All Ranks Reset Today


Due to rampant abuse of a hole in the new Unit Awards system, we had to do a mass update to the SGC user database to correct a large number of invalid awards and points. Although the points were fairly easy to correct, we had to pull the site offline for 20 minutes to reset all the ranks in the database. For some of you, this meant a promotion and for others it meant an automatic demotion.

These changes are not indicated on your service records (it would have been nice, but then the site would have been down for 5 times as long). Everything appears to be back to normal, and mechanisms have been put in place to prevent the further manipulation of the system.
