Name: T’Kai
Race: Vulcan/Human Hybrid (Mother/Father)
Gender: Female
Age: 47
Height: 5’11” (180cm)
Build: Slight
Hair Colour: Blonde
Eye Colour: Black
Home Planet: Born on Vulcan, raised on a number of planets as her father travelled but sent to Earth as a teenager to complete her education.
Family: Her mother, T’Ker, was a Vulcan ‘Princess’, her father, William Jamieson, was, and still is, an Ambassador for Starfleet
Rank: Lieutenant
Assignment: Theoretical Xeno-sociologist on board USS Providence
Education: Star Fleet Academy; Vulcan Temple Selaya, Vulcan Science Academy
Personality Characteristics: T’Kai is not often seen out and about onboard, preferring to remain alone and focused on her research. The trauma of her father’s rejection still haunts her ‘human’ side and her, now-trained, wild skill and strength with her telepathy has enabled her to hide, even from her Vulcan teachers, the schism within herself. The breach that almost totally divides her human and Vulcan ‘sides’ into two personalities.
In her time off duty she spends her time alone in her quarters, in meditation, sometimes with the keethara, dressed in the simple garb of a temple acolyte, trying always to defeat her ‘human’ side and keep it under total control. Her only use of the holo-decks has been for the intense physical training regime she forces herself to go through, a regime that includes mainly Vulcan skills such as the use of the ahn-woon and longbow, along with an intense hand-to-hand regime. Part of the program has been restricted for her use only because of its inclusion of the tal-shaya training.
She has never been to ten-forward and is most emphatic about not allowing anyone to touch her if it can be avoided.
History:
T’Kai’s mother lived only long enough after given birth to name her child and therefore pass on her birthrights to her new daughter. The birth of her hybrid daughter took her life, something that Jamieson never forgave the child for.
Only ever receiving the most basic of training in s’at, T’Kai spent most of her young life in a perpetual inner struggle between her to ‘sides’, but her blonde hair was not the only thing she inherited from her father. She also got his stubborn streak and persisted in fighting an un-winnable war to gain her father’s respect and something just a bit more than his basic acknowledgement of her existence. She went to Star Fleet Academy thinking that perhaps he would welcome her attempt to follow in his footsteps in some way but alas, he refused even to turn up to her graduating ceremony. A feat that, however, she did not manage either due to the circumstances of her graduating class’s final flight.
The routine flight (of which many details are still classified), was interrupted by a distress call from another ship. It was under attack by a ship of
What really happened that day was much more complicated than that. The restricted classifications were slammed into place immediately at the mention of time travel in the official reports of the survivors. Suffice to say at this time that T’kai spent well over a year nursing the katra of her late teacher.
When T’Kai’s actions were described, certain of her superior officers, realising what she had done and was doing as they were told, saw to it that she was shipped immediately to Vulcan for the appropriate ceremonies there.
It was then that her mother’s people discovered just how powerful her telepathic abilities were and ‘told’ Starfleet that she would be taking a leave of absence until she had received the training necessary for one of her abilities and due to one of her rank. (The information about her rank and related rights in Vulcan society was something that her father had neglected to pass on to both her and Starfleet and combined with her lack of ‘sufficient mental training’, were more than sufficient reasons to ensure her protracted ‘leave-of-absence' were willingly approved by her superiors.)
Her mental training at Mount Selaya lasted for the majority of her 20 year leave and was added to with Vulcan degrees in Xeno-sociology and Theoretical Xeno-sociology.
Her work on her thesis in Theoretical Xeno-sociology, combined with her combat service during the training cruise led to her being posted as a Lieutenant aboard the USS Providence when she recently returned to active duty.
