Combat: Chrome Cobras have a gaze attack, targets must save vs. petrification, and if ethereal or astral return to the same plane as the snake. Invisibles become visible. Once a target is on the same plane and visible, the snake uses its poison which kills if a saving throw is failed.

Habitat/Society: Because these snakes can see invisible, astral and ethereal beings, they make excellent guards and are sometimes trained as such by powerful masters.

Ecology: Chrome snakes eat anyone smaller than them. They will attack and eat people wearing plate armor for the metal, but invisible, astral and ethereal beings have a special flavour that the snake savors. It will sometimes attack these creatures even if over-matched, just for the taste. Some lucky chrome snakes have traveled to the ethereal or astral planes and have died from over-eating.
