I was born in Santiago, Chile. My first love was
biology. Actually, my first love was a seven-year old little girl named Lucila, who
broke my heart. Following biology's shining path, I worked for ten years in a
laboratory. In 1973, however, my world came |
crumbling
down after a bloody coup d'etat and I came to the States. In San Diego, California,
I studied literature and I got a Ph. D. in Latin American Literature. I have several
hobbies which I practice erratically. Among them is painting, writing poetry and tae kwon
do. Tae kwon do is one of my favorites. I remember that when I was a blue belt I
had good extension but very little control of my strength. As a consequence, I kicked lots
of people that I didn't mean to. In time, I became a disciplined |
brown belt,
fully in control of my power. But then, for some reason, I got kicked a lot by more
experienced brown belts and black belts. My intuition tells me that one of life's most
important metaphors is there, but I cannot fully formalize it. Presently, I am an instructor in Fresno City College.
