Dear friends,
DBX's review of Code of Hero revived this little thing within me.  So, please read on, dear friends.

In Code of Hero, Dinobot saw that the humans were all going to be wiped out by Megatron.  Megatron really hated the human race and, even though at times pretended to like them (ala Go With the Flow), he would'nt miss a chance to tear them apart...violantly.  Finally, as you all know, Megatron unleashed his wrath on the humans.  The humans, funny enough, didn't know squat.  Dinobot, from a mountain top, looked down at the valley.  Saving the humans from obliteration was his destiny, his purpose in life, and he knew it.  Ambushing the enemy, Dinobot fought valiantly and took down all the Predacons.  Finally, it seemed that he was beaten.  Megatron had  come and was about to fry him.  And, Megatron felt like he had won, he already would've begin his victory party if there were any Preds left.  But, as we all know, Dinobot wasn't losing and beat the slag out of Megatron, and even managed to destroy the infernal golden disk.  Dinobot had beaten evil.  Then, sadly, his spark went offline.

Actually, the saddest part is that the humans never knew about it.  Or were blinded to not see it.  Or maybe it's cause they refused to believe that a robot, a machine, saved their hides.  Dinobot had commited the ultimate sacrifice to save them from the fires.  The humans didn't even deserve it.  After all, what had they doen for him?  Dinobot was also superior to them.  Why should a Maximal help a human?  But, Dinobot felt the need, the love for them, to give his life.  No gratitude came back from the humans, though.  Sad, huh?  Poor Dinobot.

Now here's the interesting part.  You know, someone died for us so that we can be saved from the fires too.  He saved us from destruction, from obliteration, from spending an internity being tormented by pain and evil.  We, being unworthy of such an act, usually don't understand WHY someone would do that.  It's cause he loves us.  Unlike Dinobot, this man is not a character of Fiction, but is real.  This man is our Lord Jesus Christ.  He is the Son of God and didn't need to come down to earth and be made human to die for our sins.  But he did.  He humbled himself and took the form of man.  Would you like to humble yourself and take the form of an ameoba?  I didn't think so.  It was hard for Jesus to do that for us.  But he did cause God loves us so much and so unconditionally.  He loves us no matter how terrible, how evil, how yucky, how good, how imperfect we are. Man is sinful and seperated from God.  If any of you find yourselves to be perfect and be completely blameless, stand up?  Riiiiiiight ;)

You see, only righteous people can go to heaven.  But to be righteous, you need to be, as I said earlier, completely blameless and obey all of God's laws.  For us, though, it is next to impossible to do.  If that is so, then how can we ever have a smidgen of a chance to go to heaven?  And escape the fires of hell?  In Romans 3: 21-25 (NIV), it says, "But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.  This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his Grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood."  In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. no one comes to the Father except through me."

In other words, all have sinned and can't go to heaven.  But I think we already stated that.  The only way, then, to go to heaven is through Jesus.  There is only one way to heaven, and that is through him, the only way God provided.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  You can't get to heaven through good works or believing that there IS a God.  Even the devil and his demons believe that God exists.  So again, how do we get to heaven?

Jesus died on the cross for all our sins.  The sins of the world were placed on his shoulders.  Because 'the wages of sin is death' (Romans 6:23).  He was blameless and righteous in everyway.  But he died for our sins so that we would not have to.  Jesus died in our place.  It was for us, each and every one of us, that he died.  But his death would mean nothing if he did not rise from the dead.  On the third day after his death, Jesus rose from the grave, and was alive again.  he appeared to several hundreds of people and his disciples.  Jesus had overcome death.  All you have to do, is accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.  The gift is there for the taking, the gift of salvation.  All you need to do is accept it and you will be declared righteous.  In Hebrews 8:12, God says "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

Now you ask, how do I accept him?  And is there a catch?  First of all, no catch.  You don't need to wear a suit, sing hymns all day, and all to be a Christian.  Once you recieve Jesus, that's it.  No catches and no strings.  And it's once and for all.  You cannot lose your salvation once you get it.

Jesus wants to come into your life.  He wants to give you the gift of salvation.  We must recieve Christ.  "But as many as recieved Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." -John 1:12

We recieve Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation from God, through Faith. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one shoudl boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9

Friends, we recieve Christ by personal invitation.  Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him." -Revelation 3:20

Recieving Jesus involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Jesus to come into your life to forgive our sins and to make us the kind of people he wants us to be.  Just to afree intelectulaly that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience.  We recieve Jesus Christ by faith as an act of will.

You can recieve Jesus right now by faith through prayer...prayer is talking to God, btw.  Pray it to God sincerely and with your whole heart.  God isn't so much concerned with your words as he is with your attitude of your heart.

Here's a suggested prayer of faith, "Heavenly Father, I need you.  Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  I open the door of my life and recieve You as my Savior and Lord.  Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving my eternal life.  Take control of the throne of my life.  Make me the kind of person You want me to be.  In Your Name I pray, Amen."

Is this prayer what you want, what your heart wants? Yes?  Then pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life as He promised.  he will be with you from now on to eternity.

When you do this, you have the assurance to go to Heaven and live forever.  The Bible promises eternal life to all who recieve Him.  "And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God in order that you may know that you have eternal life." -1 John 5:11-13

Thank God that Jesus is in your life and that He will never leave you. You can know on the basis of his promise that Christ lives in you and that you have eternal life from the very moment you invite him in.
