POWERS: Psionic was Mr. Sinister's second elemental mutant, created out of pure psychic energy. He is literally a cloud of telepathy, able to liquefy minds with a single thought, wipe memories, cast illusions, send mental commands, locate people by their mental signal and take control of an individual's free will.

HISTORY: Psionic was the result of Mr. Sinister's second experiment with elemental mutants. Sinister kidnapped many of the world's strongest telepaths, including former X-Woman Psylocke and the newly telepathic Gambit and extracted their mental energies into a tangible form. Psionic proved a deadly enemy, and nearly killed Gambit when he attempted to imprison him.

Psionic's only failing was that he required a constant source of psychic energy to keep his powers at their peak level, and after the X-Women destroyed Sinister's lab he was left destitute. He discorporated, but whether he is truly dead or merely a prisoner on the astral plane has never been determined.
