STRENGTH/COMBAT: Claire possesses the average strength for a woman of her height and weight who engages in intensive regular exercise.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Claire was trained as both a thief and an assassin by her respective Guilds.

POWERS: Claire's blood is her mutation. In certain areas of her body, her blood has a different effect on people. She cuts the desired limb to utilize the blood stored there. The full extent of the effect her blood can have on her opponents is not known, but her neck possesses a regenerative agent, her fingertips a knockout serum and her wrists a corrosive agent. As a result of her primary mutation, Claire can lose up to a half-gallon of blood before she becomes incapacitated.

 

WEAPONS: None. Claire carries a small knife to release her blood during battle.

HISTORY: Born in Hungary, Claire and her family emigrated to the United States when she was very young. Her parents were killed in a fire at their apartment building in New York City, and Claire was adopted by the patriarch of the New York Assassin's Guild. Growing bored with her pampered lifestyle, Claire faked her death and left the Guild when she was fifteen. She went over to the Assassin's direct rival, the New York Thieves Guild, under the guise of wanting to join. As soon as Claire had learned everything she needed to know to be a master thief, she faked her death again and left New York.

While wandering the world as little more than a mercenary, Claire met another outcast thief, Remy LeBeau. The two traveled in Europe for a time, and pulled several jobs together. Claire would have liked to have a romantic relationship, but Remy, perhaps recognizing her predatory personality, never returned her affection.

Claire was reunited with Remy, now a member of the X-Women, in Paris while the team was vacationing. She accompanied them back to Westchester, and became an unofficial member of the team when Shadowcat, Rogue, Gambit, Beast and Nuclear were transported to the parallel dimension known as Middleverse. Claire got along well with most of the team, excepting Wolverine and Beast, because of her constant flirtations with Gambit and Nuclear. After a confrontation with Logan, she settled down and continued to aid the X-Women in several battles, including their confrontation with mad bomber James Perish.
