Logfile from Nanoc

Northeastern Bowl

The northeastern arc of the Weyr Bowl seems somewhat isolated from the rest of the weyr - with necessity, for this is the training grounds for young riders and dragons, the Weyrlings. The main entrance to the weyrling barracks is just north of here, and the ground there is well-trampled and firm, as if many feet, both human and dragon, have wandered over it dozens of times a day. Further up in the northwest corner of the bowl is the waterfall, tumbling out of the Weyr face several dragonlengths above, misting the area in a rainbow glow. On the south side of the bowl lie the ashpits and firestone supplies for the entire Weyr.

It is a summer before dawn.

Gliding about are Akasha and Forseti.

Green Misumith, green Fiareth, green Elbareth, and green Castaliath are here.

You see Flamer Charging Unit here.

Obvious exits:

Barracks Pool Path Central Bowl

Lib strides out of the barracks.

Yla walks with a distinct bounce in her step out of the barracks.

Kaith trudges out of the barracks.

Naomi is led in by Kaith.

Bydelth shuffles awkwardly out of the barracks.

"Yes, love, I think that's a marvelous idea. No... no, I can't do that..." Naomi mumbles to Kaith as the pair step out of the barracks, and each time she says 'no', she recieves a slap behind the knees. "I'm... sorry..." mutters she, stumbling forward into the bowl to greet the others with a quick wave of her hand. "Morning... is it morning yet?"

Lib drops her DV from her eye to her side as she hears Naomi approach, nodding her answer to the girl's question. "Yes, it is. I was considering going back to sleep now, actually, but morning to you too." Weyrling shrugs, rotating the instrument in her hands.

"Look, how many times do I have to tell you..." Yla's voice can be heard as she traipses out of the barracks with her lifemate. "The birds aren't up yet. You can't talk to your friends. They're still sleeping. Like normal creatures."

Theorn walks in from the Central Bowl.

Theorn looks round, obviously searching for someone.

N'ano shakes his head "Dunno? Byd insisted that we come out here--then again, he drags me out here this early every mornin'? I mean, just look at him go! He's gotta stay buff 'n all." Rolling his eyes, he turns to point at the racing bronze, hopping and prancing around the bowl at his fastest speed "Woah! Yo! Slow down 'bit, will ya?" is called out after him before N'ano settles down upon his usual rock. "Theorn?" movement out of the corner of his eye catches him, "What're you doin' here so early, eh?" is questioned of the healer, vaguely recognized.

Theorn suddenly looks over at N'ano, and smiles in recognition. "Hey, yes i decided to come up here early before everyone is up at the Hall, and i'm force into doing chores." he watched the Bronze out of the corner of his eye. "I take it this is the dragon you bonded too?"

"Don't go," pleads Naomi softly, arms wrapped over her chest. "I may have to do handsprings again, and I need your support." And off she pads towards Lib, while Kaith focuses her gaze on Theorn. New person. Male, new person. And so, the green quite deliberately places herself in a position where she can watch the new male and the old male interact, deliberately staring past Bydelth, her tail twitching slightly. "Don't hurt anyone today, please, Kaith..." murmurs the ever-loyal greenrider, still standing by Lib, and now waving Yla over. "The birds'll come out any time now, Yla... just wait, you'll see." Yes. She wants company.

"Is Alishath the only weyrling dragon still sleeping in Ista?" Still playing with her DV, Lib raises an eyebrow both over her question and the stranger who would seem to know N'ano. "Good day." Is offered, head inclined, before Lib turns to Naomi. "I'll stay." A quick pat of Naomi's arm accompanies the statement.

Yla puts her hand on Cassie's neck, gently guiding her lifemate over to the other greenriders at Naomi's gesture. "Yes. Right. Soon enough." is muttered.

Theorn smiles at the others. "Hello, My name is Theorn." he introduces himself with a slight bow.

N'ano nods his head, thumbing and following Bydelth as he speeds past them "Aye... that'd be the one. Bydelth's the name." he introduces the name to the boy "Chores? So early in the mornin'? Shards, I knew there was somethin' I didn't miss 'bout those shardin' masters and journeymen!"

Theorn turns to N'ano with a slight twinkle in his eye. "I need to talk to you, its sorta private. About a certain healer we both know?" he raises his eyebrown, glancing over at the others, asking if its ok to talk infront of them.

Naomi quirks a brow at Theorn, linking her arm with Lib's to ensure that the other greenrider is not going anyplace. Seemingly suspicious, Kaith continues prowling forward, finally settling on a resting position behind N'ano, where she can look over his head to the other. A short, shreikish croon emits, and then she settles down, again patient and watching. "What's goin' on with her?" murmurs Nao, before she catches some bits of Theorn's comment. And turns away, reaching out her other arm for Yla. "We're not listening," she notes, for their sake.

Theorn looks warily at the dragon staring at him from behind N'ano, and slowly he smiles at it. "Hello." he tries, not wanting to startle it. "Arent you a pretty green?" the smile is still plastered to his face, a sudden distrust of the dragon emerging in his mind.

"Of course not," Yla says, cheerfully enough, linking arms with Naomi. "Just... pretend we're not here." And they'll pretend they're not listening. Or Yla will anyway. Cassie spends a few moments snuffling around the bowl for her friends the birds, before discovering they're not there, and trots back to Yla's side, hunkering down to the floor of the bowl.

N'ano raises a brow at the boy, looking over at the others for the situation's sake before turning back "Certain--healer? That we both know? Ooookay? Did someone die or somethin' at the hall?" is suddenly asked in alarm before he motions to an opposing rock "Have a seat or somethin'."

"Nope. Not hearing a word." Lib agrees with Naomi and Yla, smiling sweetly in the direction of the two guys, or maybe at Kaith. It's hard to tell. "You might not want to start a discussion with Kaith, Healer." Greenrider notes, winking at the green dragon of her friend.

But Kaith is already narrowing her gaze, her focus, standing taller to step right -over- N'ano, now bearing down on Theorn. Pretty green? Naomi has her back turned, and is thus unable to see what her darling lifemate is doing, and unable to stop her... "Right. Not listening, not hearing a word." Now, however, mental comments from the green reach her, and she spins about. "Aah... Kaith... he's not... no... I don't think that's what he meant..." However, she's already forcing her muzzle at Theorn, eyes whirling a reddish-violet, strangely enough.

Pretty green? Eep. Well, he's not to know he's taking his life into his hands is he. Even so, Yla holds onto Naomi's arm a little tighter in case the girl's lifemate decides to be less.... friendly.

Theorn sits slowly, still half eying the dragon. "No, nothing like that, its about Serafa. Well, partially." he looks at the dragon, almost feeling distrust coming off it, although it may just be his mind. "Its just, well, i know whats going on. You know, between you two? more than friends and all that?" he looks at him, his eyes almost daring him to deny it. Just then the dragon starts to come towards him, her eyes whirling almost evilly. "Ummm, what i meant to say is, i love the shade of green your scales are, very nice, and umm, what big teeth you have, i bet your good at hunting..." he breaks off leaning back slightly.

Uh oh. Time to play Mister innocent now, isn't it? "'tween us two?" N'ano shakes his head in mock confusion "What do ya mean by that? She's like, my little sister to me, if that's what you mean." There, he dared to deny what the other was thinking. Muwaa. What a lovely distraction Kaith makes too, as N'ano sits back, crossing his arms and watching the wonderful interaction "Maybe she likes ya or somethin'!"

Theorn looks round, trying to get as far away from the dragons teeth as he can without moving from where he is sitting. *i thought dragons didnt attack people* he thinks to himself. *She's not attcked yet you dolt* he thinks a moment later

/Scales/?! That's it. Kaith's had enough. First her lifemate calls her a monster, now this male accuses her of having scales. Tail swings around -- /she/ certainly doesn't care if he's having a conversation currently, oh no... Does he think her to be an overgrown tunnelsnake, as well? She'll show him. The 'pretty' green coils that 'scaly' tail around Theorn, boa constrictor'esque, and proceeds to press her muzzle right up against his face, smiling. In truth, it's more a baring of teeth than anything else, but it does wonders for her mood. Naomi is in a state of shock, however. "Boy... you might want to hold still. And say something nice about handsprings."

[Shakespeare'sWeyrlings] Naomi: She has now.

Lib can't help but laugh, even if she isn't meant to be listening. "Kaith /is/ good at hunting, but not always the sort that requires teeth. Right, Nao?" Standing with her arm still linked through Naomi's, greenrider chuckles, face forming a half-smirking and half-smiling expression. "Depends on your version of like..." Lib notes to N'ano.

Theorn stops moving. "Handsprings?" he thinks for a moment, searching his mind for something dragons might like to be complemented on. Finally giving up, he takes the advice beig thrown at him. "Arent Handsprings great!" he says, a little too entusiastic.

Yla tilts her head. "This is definitely the nice Kaith." she says, giggling briefly towards her fellow greenriders. "Feel special." She advises. Cassie, for her part, glances up at Yla. She doesn't have scales. She has softsoft hide. "Yes, dear, we /know/." Yla says exasperatedly as Cassie states the obvious.

N'ano just tosses Lib some unmeaningful look before flicking his attention back to the green and her lunch? "Ya uh, I'd stay still... maybe if you /do/ a handspring, she'll like ya? Or at least won't eat ya." just a wise suggestion.

"Oh, absolutely," Naomi murmurs to Lib, eyes locked on Kaith. "She does like him, I suppose... in the same way she likes me. Like... a scab or something." The weyrling rambles, unable to remember what she's trying to say anymore. Kaith, meanwhile, snorts at Theorn, breathing heavily in his face. "Uh... uh... what's his name?" she hisses to the other greenriders suddenly, before merely shouting: "Kid! Do you do handsprings?" Slowly, she breaks from the group of greenriders to pad over towards N'ano. "Get 'im to do a bad one, N'ano... a really bad one."

Theorn tries to organise his thoughts, but find it really hard with a dragon pressing against him. "Handsprings? i cant do handsprings. Although now might be a good time to learn..." he looks intothe dragons eyes for a moment, wishing they would stop whirling so much.

"YO! Theorn! Do a really bad handspring!" Wait, was he suppose to yell that out loud? Oh well, too late. It got the point across though, didn't it? "If you try 'n do one, it should be bad.. just do one if ya know whats good for ya!"

N'ano * claims that pose, of course :)

Itazurath cavorts out of the barracks.

Khaye is led in by Itazurath.

"Oh go on." Yla prompts, shuffling over to close the gap left between her and Lib by Naomi. "We wanna see? Don't we? Of course we do." she says without waiting for a response.

"Kaith might let you go if you agree to do a handspring." Lib calls in Theorn's direction, purely to be helpful, of course. She doesn't /really/ want to see him do one. Of course not. She's just being a nice little greenrider. Watching the two others shuffle forward, Lib moves with her friends, not wanting her view spoiled.

Theorn looks at the dragon, not really having any choice with it being so close. " cant exactly do a handspring with a.... perfect example of everything anyone could want to be, wrapped around me." he says to anyone who might listen.

Naomi purses her lips suddenly, as Kaith swings her head around to stare at N'ano. Trying to interfere with the sacred handspring process? Dare he do something so bold in her presence? Theorn is dropped, as she crawls over towards the bronzerider, eyes taking on a bit more red. "N'ano... just back away slowly..." calls Nao, before she runs around behind Kaith to intercept Theorn at some point. "Boy... ahm... Theorn. Come over here, and do an /extremely/ bad handspring," she whispers, patting his shoulder lightly. "I'll do one with you. I... I've been told I /have/ to do one with you." Back to N'ano. Keep her distracted...

Khaye is losing her mind. "And then the vtol got stepped on. And the vtol died. The end." Upon coming out of the barracks and seeing the people, she stops. Itazurath doesn't, and more or less mows her down as he continues walking right into her back. Thud. Oof. "Who's doing a handspring?" she manages to ask once she's lifted her face off the ground. "Huh?"

Theorn looks surpirsed at the movement. "I have to do a /bad/ handspring?"

Yla shrugs lightly, crossing her arms and waiting to see what'll happen. "I think you just have to do one, and it doesn't matter if its bad." She blinks at Naomi a moment, then shrugs again. "I think, anyway. I'm probably wrong."

Oh, wonderful. Should N'ano have expected any less? Of course not. Fortunate for him though, that big little bronze intercepts any evil glares at his rider, jumping 'tween the two, eyeing the green like a raptor. "Uh, Byd?" was this the first time the bronze has ever been distracted from his work? Probably. He's not too happy about it either.

"Yes... Kaith doesn't like males who can do better handsprings than I..." Naomi explains hastily, reaching for Theorn's arm. "Come with me? We'll make this quick... just have to get her calmed down." Kaith, distracted from N'ano, turns to hiss at Bydelth, much like a tunnelsnake might. "Kaith... he's not... no... he's not doing anything wrong..." Kaith shrieks now, her tail straightening out like a pole, and her whole body taking on the posture of a scared feline. Naomi catches her attention now, and she turns, bearing down once again on her rider and the boy. "Theorn? We should do this now. Quickly."

"I'd say it has to be worse than Naomi's, that handspring. That's if Kaith's doing what I think she is, which she probably isn't, because she's like that." Once again Lib's helpful input floats on the morning air, weyrling idly swinging her distanceviewer by her leg. "N'ano, call the bronzebutt off, will you? Kaith's more than enough, and Bydelth's not going to be able to do anything about her. Green's are more agile." And she's not just saying that 'cause she rides one.

Khaye has disconnected.

Khaye's eyes glaze over, and her attention drifts elsewhere...

Theorn gets up, and backs away from the two angry dragons. "A bad handspring huh? shouldnt be to hard, i've never been able to do one before..." with that, he moves over to naomi.

Yla *AFK's a sec.

Guess who's turn it is give the evil eye? Well, N'ano's, but after those 'stress management' classes they got while gutting those fresh kills, he's learned to control his temper "My boy can easily squash all of y'all." snapping his fingers, he motions for Bydelth to step aside, who in turn, keeps a watchful eye over the situation.

Yla snorts at N'ano's statement. "Yeah... and our greens can run rings round that big bronze lump of yours." she says with a roll of her eyes and a tone of amused scorn.

The housekeeper arrives to cart Khaye off to bed.

Lib simply gives a roll of her eyes, sending a diguested look in N'ano's direction. "Give the guy a bronze..." Greenrider mutters, licking her yeeth instead of completing the sentance. Yla's comment gets an amused raise of Lib's eyebrows, weyrling nodding her agreement. "Quite."

Naomi nods once at Theorn, then moves to the clearest area in the bowl and proceeds to do a mediocre handspring -- far better than that she had done long before, but not entirely impressive. Kaith watches this calmly with only a few mental remarks for Nao, then turns to stare at Theorn. "Now might be a good time to try, Theorn," mutters Nao, before she turns to look back at N'ano. "He can squash us, yes, but he has no other skills. You might as well have a big boulder with wings."

Theorn starts to move, begining to attempt a handspring a small run up, and the next thing he knows, he's lying on his back, staring up at the sky, after a bump on his head while attempting it. "I'm fine." he manages, rubbing his head. "I'll be ok." he looks up, and realises that noone is there. Then turning his head, he realises that he has simply been turned around somehow.

N'ano will stay calm, yes he will "Well, 'least my dragon doesn't act like he has a stick shoved up his--" insert bad word here. Completely ignoring any other questions, he shoos his lifemate off to complete his exercise before walking over to Theorn, offering a hand up "Sorry 'bout all that. Naomi just needs to control her dragon a bit more. Now, why were ya here again?"

"You lot just serve to remind me why I joined the StarCraft." Lib announces, giving the fallen Theorn a somewhat diguested look, and indicating both Healers with a flick of the hand holding her distanceviewer. (Useful as a pointing impliment as well as for gazing at stars. Get yours now!)

Theorn turns himself around, realising how stupid he looks "That bad enough?" At n'ano's helping hand, he pushes himself of the ground, using his hand to steady himself. "Just remind me never to complement a green." he says, lowering his voice hoping the dragon doesnt here him.

Yla never got one. She left before she had that class. Therefore, a finger must serve as a pointing implement, although it can't really be used for stargazing. Unless Yla skipped over that section of the manual. "You can complement my Cassie," she says, pointing down at the green dragon crouched beside her, engaged in whuffling at an insect creeping through the dust of the bowl.

Theorn shakes his head, hoping he doesnt get concussion or anything. "I was here to talk about Serafa, well not her inparticular, but just to talk about a lot of things."

N'ano nods his head slowly, motioning to the rocks once again "Alrighty... just--have a seat there. What's up 'bout whatever that you need to talk 'bout that involves her?" he keeps a brow arched out of mild suspicion as he stares over at the healer.

Kaith is satisfied. So satisfied, in fact, that she no longer even glances at Theorn, sending a dark look over towards N'ano. Nao gets a glance -- didn't Kaith tell her rider to dispose of this male? Incompetent. Nao nearly crumbles under the green's gaze, but finally gets up enough strength, at Kaith's insistence, to reply to N'ano. "Don't mess with me. You know Kaith could crush you, and your stupid bronze." With a light 'hmmph', she turns to look at the other greenriders again. "Let's go back to 'not listening', shall we?"

"If Kaith's statisfied with the healer's handspring, then why not?" Lib replies, twirling her 'scope like it's a baton for a moment before holding it firmly again. "'Lish is still asleep." Girl notes, eyes having 'faded out' with the bried contact to her dragon's mind.

bried/brief

Theorn bows his head slightly. "Well, your relationship with her is the same as I have with another healer. We were both wondering, well, it must be hard to keep such things hidden sometimes, and you both seem to have done a good job of it, but obviously not good enough, since we worked it out, and we were both thinking that maybe if we worked together we could disguise our relatonships easier, and have more excuses which can be collaborated better." he takes a deep breath, having got all that out without pausing for more than a second.

Theorn looks at n'ano for a moment, waiting for his reaction. He had said a lot at once, and it obviously would take a little while to be absorbed

N'ano shakes his head "What relationship ye talkin' 'bout boy?" yep, there he goes playing his innocent routine again. Apparently, this whole conversation is sending N'ano into a not so oblivious laughing fit. Moment's later, he does manage to calm down a bit "Slow down there... now now, What's all this 'bout?"

The fun bit seems to be over now, but Yla still keeps half a completely not listening ear on the conversation at hand, reaching down to give her lifemate a quick scritch on the head. "I think Cassie should sleep more than she does." she says with a brief glance down at the green.

"You're still seeing someone back at the healer hall?" Eyeing N'ano, Lib's tone is openly scornful. So much for not listening, and so much for N'ano's denial... "Even Keris knew better than to try that. Twice, in fact." Rembering her 'not listening' pact, greenrider then ducks her head and concentrates on Yla and Naomi. "She's an early riser, your Cassie?" Weyrling tries, hoping to forget her earlier remark.

Theorn looks surprised at the laughin fit, looks at him seriously for a moment. "If i've worked it out, so have other people. I mean, its not as if you've covered it up perfectly. 'oh, we are like brother and sister'" he adds, almost mockingly. "How long do you think people are going to be fooled by that? I wasnt."

Yla pats Lib's arm gently. "Now now, dear. Don't get wound up about it. Didn't you know?" Er... maybe she didn't. "And yes. She is. Last to bed. First to rise sort. She has naps. That's why she's up so long, I'm sure."

"What are you /talkin'/ 'bout? I've seen ya what, once? Twice? How in Faranth's name'd you come to /that/ conclusion, hmm? I ain't seen Serafa 'cept maye two or three times since candidacy, so how can ya possibly think there's anythin' 'tween us, eh?" Ha! N'ano's starting to get good at this, or so he'd like to think.

"It doesn't bother me." Lib answers Yla, shaking her head slightly. "I just thought he'd have more sense." Despite Alishath telling her otherwise. "I mean, it's not like it'd survive the first flight Bydelth's in." Greenrider continues coversationally, as if N'ano wasn't standing near by. "There's no way you can expect a non-rider to have any idea about /that/." Seeing as how her baby is still asleep, Lib has no qualms in dredging that subject up out loud.

Theorn smiles. "Well, firstly i've talked to you a few times, right, but i've talked to serafa too. You both Deny it /too/ much, i saw you at the post hatchign party, where more than one glance was passed. I know Serafa lied about your realtioship, i grew up around women, i know how to read them sometimes. I mentioned a suspicion of a relationship she might be having to her, and she immediatly denied having one with you, whne i hadnt even mentioned names." he pauses for a breath. "Then there are rumours flying, and of course, being the type of person i am, i know whats going on." he takes anothe rdep breath, realising he is talking a little too much. "and of course your just going to deny it now, but i /know/ and so do you." he looks at him. "and from the conversations i can hear from the other riders here, they just add to my argument."

Yla tilts her head in N'ano's direction, pursing her lips slightly, before turning back towards her fellow greenriders slightly. "Very true. Especially the way she reacted when she heard those rumours." And we all know which ones. "Although I suppose he could hide in his weyr come the time. But that's no fun." Her lips twitch slightly in amusement.

Naomi can't stand for this any longer. She stomps away from the other girls to stand by N'ano, for once defending him... or is she? "Listen, kid. You've got your facts wrong. N'ano and Seffy have -no- relationship like that... I know this girl, and I know she's got something going on with another guy. You're mistaken, I'm afraid. So cut it out." A glance is sent back to Yla. "And you should not be talking. I know all about -you-..." No explanation there. Kaith merely seems amused. Gossip flies. "So cut out all this gossiping. No relationships. You, apprentice, should not even be considering it."

Theorn stands up and waves his hands about wildly. "Enough already! I already know!!!!!" he almost shouts, not knowing how else to get throught to these people. "Ooooo they are right about dragon riders, you are some of the most stubborn people i'v ever met!!!"

"Yeah? Your point? What do ya want us to do if it ain't true, say it is anyway just to please ya? Sorry bub, that ain't gonna happen. Lied 'bout my relationship? Shards boy, you're nuts!" N'ano in the meantime casts a look towards Lib at her comments towards Bydelth, but soon turns it to Yla, just shaking his head. Now turning back to Theorn, he continues, or was about to. So she mentioned his name in the denials? Wonderful. Oh! "So 'nother words, you try your best to pry into other people's business, eh?" see, he can catch him there, ha! What? As he listens to Naomi, he just drops his jaw "She--she does?" oh, back to the subject at hand "Yeah! What would ye do if the masters happened to find out 'bout ya, eh? The Weyrwoman told me stories 'bout a boy kicked outta the craft y'know for gettin' a girl knocked up!"

Yla quirks her eyebrow at Naomi in unveiled amusement. "Not talking? What's the matter, dear? Jealous?" she pouts to the girl slightly before contriving to look hurt at Theorn. "Some of? Honestly. I thought I'd at least be up there in the top three."

Theorn counts to ten in his head, determined not to do anything rash. "Firstly, i came here to offer to help, secondly healer apprentices are given herbal contraceptives as you well know, so i cant get her knocked up, thirdly i havent mentoned her name so she cant be found out!"

"Do you want Kaith to eat you?" Lib snaps at Theorn, pining him with her gaze. "Because I'm sure if I asked Naomi real nice, she'd arrange it for me." Glare worsens for a moment, before Lib turns away with a 'hmpf'. "He shouldn't complain anyways. He sounds like weyrfolk himself, the way he's on about sex."

"Yes," Naomi replies hastily to N'ano, though her gaze remains on Theorn. "Look, our dragons aren't the reasons we are saying this. Weyrlings are not allowed to have relationships -- our dragons would never permit it. So you're wrong. Accept that and move on. Do you speak this way to your girlfriend, kid? I can't imagine what kind of person she must be..." Kaith's attitude has infected her. "It doesn't matter if they know who, kid. If they know you've done it, yourself, you can be thrown out of your craft. N'ano's at least smart enough not to try to pull something like that in the healercraft." Now, she retreats to Lib's side, linking her arm back with the other greenrider's. "I think /he's/ the stubborn one. Can't accept the facts. And yes... he shouldn't really be thinking about that sort of thing at his age, anyways, should he?"

Yla crosses her arms. "So are we. Doesn't mean they're one hundred percent effective, you should know that as a Healer." Heh. Why do you think, in spite of the green stuff, they were still forbidden from anything during candidacy? She grins at Lib. "He's male. Naturally he's obssessed."

Kaith goes home.

N'ano stands up now at the dragon rider comment, staring fiercely down at the boy "Oh yeah? Well, got news for ya, I ain't needin' your help for nothin', alright? So why don't you just mind your business for one thing." oh, and there he goes poking the boy's shoulder "And yeah, what Naomi said--if there were /anythin'/ goin' on 'tween us two, believe me, the entire /Weyr/ would know! And yeah!" now he thumbs over to Yla "She's right, y'know. They don't always work. So you just better be careful there boy! And that's /my/ advice you /you/!"

Theorn holds his hands in his head. "Give me a minute to think here." he pauses, taking a few deep breaths. "Look," he says, much calmer. "I came here not only to help, but looking for help, and if your not willing to admit to anything, thats ok. I've already admited to a relationship, so if you tell anyone, i'll probably be kicked out fo the healer craft. All i wanted was to have a little talk, ask a few questions from someone who knows more than me about keeping relationships secret." he pauses, managing this time to order his thoughts. "Ok, if you dont have a relationship with serafa, consider this imaginary situation. Suppose you did, and suppose that i have a relationship too. Now suppose i cam to you, and offered to help you keep yours secret, and ask you to help me keep mine, as if i can work out whats happening, so can other people." he pauses again. "Now, if this maginary situation arose, what would happen next?"

Theorn looks carefully at him. "If this imaginary situation came to arise, what would this imaginary you do?"

"We'd all set our dragons on you?" Smiling as sweetly as ever, Lib flutters her eyelashes at Theorn. "You're not even 17 Turns. Save the romance for when you're old enough to know what you're going with it, boy, and when you've got the rank to enjoy it. Leave the hypotheticals, while you're at it. They're too transparent." No mistaking Lib's view on that, or on Theorn, then.

N'ano can't help but laugh "Shards, ye ain't gonna give up boy, are ya? Well, to that, I say talk to Yla over there, mmkay?" no reason why, he just says so. "How am I 'pposed to help ya if I ain't in the same situation! It's hard to imagine, y'know? But Yla there--oh, she must be more experienced with that kind of stuff."

Theorn shakes his head, wishing he had his manipulative sister here to help him out. Very nicely he smiles at Lib. "Please dont patronise me about my age. I hate people thinking that because i'm younger than them, that makes me somehow stupider, and less knowledgeable." still smiling, he looks at N'ano "thank you fo finally listening to a little bit of reason."

Yla turns her head, blinking at N'ano with a carefully blank expression on her face. "Why, N'ano, whatever are you talking about." she says with a 'I'm so innocent' tone in her voice.

"Well, if you haven't got the manners now to insult us all in our own home, then I'm not going to credit you with anymore knowledge than a firelizard." Lib snaps back, pointing the DV at Theorn's chest. "Try acting your age and then I'll treat you accordingly." Greenrider then walks over to Naomi. "Fancy a walk or something? The teenage hormone level here is getting too much for me."

now/not

"Well, clearly, you are," Naomi replies to Theorn, hands on her hips. "I mean... generally, if one is in your position, one works harder in one's craft so they can get to the point where they're allowed such relationships. Sex at your age isn't a good idea." Yes. It's males and sex again. "You sound just like all the other men. Crazy, illogical, and obsessed with physical relationships. You /disgust/ me." A glance is sent back to Lib. "Lib. He's /gross/."

Theorn shakes his head at the two girls. "Did i once mention anything physical happening between me and k... the girl?"

"All other men?" N'ano lets that part slide before directing his attention swiftly back to the apprentice "Well, it ain't like--let me guess, you sneak off to the grasses, do a little smoochy face and then go to classes with silly little smirks on y'face. C'mon, you know it's bound to happen. And seriously, ye shouldn't be in a relationship t'begin with. It'll distract you from your lessons, and if'n you're ever lookin' to be promoted to have a /legal/ relationship, it ain't gonna happen if you keep this up."

Tstar walks out of the barracks.

"Yes!" Naomi responds, biting her lip. "You did. Several times. I can hear it even when you don't say it. Disgusting! Horrible males." Uh-oh. She turns back to Lib and nods, slowly. "I can't believe him, can you? Coming all the way over her to call /us/ stubborn because we don't run around popping out his babies... oh! The insolence! The lack of respect! I should like to have a word with the leaders of his craft..."

Theorn looks over at them, his eyes glazing over slightly. "I havent exactly had a good life, and now that something good finally happens, nothing is going to stop me speaking my mind about it. I've seen and done things you can not believe. Until you have lived my life, and done what i've done, you have no right to judge me on a short meeting."

"Most of them are." Lib replies to Naomi's gross comment, eyeing both N'ano and Theorn. "Whatever they say." Added when N'ano denies it. The popping babies issue, however, gets something of a laugh. "Oh, I know. How /could/ we be so awful?" Lib drawls, shaking her head. Theorn is then glanced at again. "Should've taken it elsewhere, if you can't handle an alternative opinion."

Yla snorts slightly. "You're going to give us a sob story about your life. Spare me, please." she says, punctuating that with an eyeroll and stalking over towards her fellow greenriders. She's more than a little miffed about being insulted in her own home tooo, when they bring it up.

Tstar arches an eyebrow as she and elbareth stride out of the barracks. "What precisely is going on here?" Her voice is mildly harsh and vaguely reproving to all present. She inspects Theorn up and down, coldly anylitical. "Might /you/ be able to explain the source of this argument?"

And the fact that he insulted dragonriders... well, that was pushing it a bit, isn't it? Naomi shakes her head somberly, looking slightly dismayed. "I can't believe the healers allow this sort of thing... I know if we were still apprentices and we came along to the Weyr like this, we'd get /flayed/. The starcraft doesn't allow that sort of thing." Tstar is given a mild glance. "Oh, he's a healer apprentice who came to accuse N'ano of having a relationship with some girl, and then insulted all dragonriders without the least bit of shame."

with a final shake of his head, he looks over at the girls, all grouping together. "No 'sob story' i havent even mentioned the details. and i dont expect any sympathy anyway. I chose how i would live, and i'm happy with how it has turned out, even if i didnt enjoy the way i got to where i am today." he glances at n'ano,"Thank you for at least rying to understand." with look at the woman who had just srrived. "Its my fault, i got a bit emotional about an issue, and i may have said some things that i shouldnt. I apologise, and will leave now."

N'ano shakes his head "Boy, I don't--" he just shakes his head, rubbing the back of his neck. It's amazing how tables can be turned, huh "Shards, you've got problems! We ain't interested in your life. We've all had it rough at one point in time--my life ain't all that grand either, I'll have you know. But I manage to cope with it. I studied my hide off when I was a healer. I dedicated my /life/ to that craft and didn't let nothin' interfere because it was all and everythin' to me. You should do the same. Just go home and think about what you're gettin' y'self into, will ya?"

Tstar snorts. "If it is something you must appologize for later then it is something you should not have said in the first place." Naomi gets a nod. "And if /that/ is all you came up here to do then you're well out of line. If you are that worried about your relationship with the girl, you should be talking to /her/ not N'ano." Her voice is all but frozen. "and a sob story does not have to be elaborated on to be one."

"I'd advise a cold shower while you're at it." Lib adds, tilting her head at Theorn. "Might help you do some of your thinking with your head." Taping her own skull, Lib raises both eyebrows for a moment, then turns back to Naomi. "StarCraft was the right choice..." Is muttered in the girl's direction.

Theorn backs away, suddenly feeling surrounded by all these watching, accusing girls. "Its nothing like that, its just... oh never mind." he looks around, weighing up the possible ways to escape the rampaging women.

Rampaging women? Just wait until they all go proddy, mate. Then you can run screaming. Actually, they would advise it. Yla just huffs in Theorn's direction.

Tstar is not accusing, she's not rampaging, she's standing very calmly and nitpicking. "Perhaps it would be better if we went for soemthing to drink, and found something more pleasant to talk about? I seriously doubt either side is going to gain any headway in this argument." Better than loosing her temper at /anyone/ present.

"Oh... never mind? You /do/ owe us an apology, and I don't really think you should be doing this sort of thing again." Naomi shakes her head solemnly again, arms crossed over her chest. "You call my dragon a tunnelsnake, you call me stubborn, and you expect to get off without the slightest bit of anger left behind. Well, fine." Nao once again turns to look back at Tstar. "You're right... we really should go get some breakfast or something."

Theorn wants to give the green riders time to cool off. "Maybe i should just head off, i wouldnt want to cause any more trouble." He looks surprised at Naomi "Tunnelsnake? i never... oh never mind, i'm not gonna argue with any of you."

Theorn wants to give the green riders time to cool off. "Maybe i should just head off, i wouldnt want to cause any more trouble." He looks surprised at Naomi "Tunnelsnake? i never... oh never mind, i'm not gonna argue with any of you." (OOC: whoops)

"Well, whatever you all decide to do, I'm heading back to the barracks. 'Lish is waking up and she's gonna need oiling." Theorn gets one more wary glance before Lib wiggles some fingers at the weyrlings present, and then returns to her lifemate. "I'll catch most of you later."

Lib strides into the barracks.

Tstar shakes her head. "Enough of this, Theorn, leave if you like, stay if you like. But take one piece of advice if you learn nothing else from this. Do /not/ insult a rider's dragon. It is the fastest way to get on the rider's badside." Which is /not/ neccissarily a good thing. Especially when one of them is as armed ast Tstar tends to be.

Theorn smiles politely. "I think i will go back down to the hall, try to figure everything out from there." The woman who had arrived not long ago was staring at him, probably waiting for him to do something. "i'm not an animal thats on display you know," he snaps out, obviously still a little crazed from before. "Sorry, sorry, i shouldnt have said that. Once agin, i'm out of line."

Tstar nods once. "Wise decision," She aproves. "Though it would also be wise to remember, we're all on display when we are in public, Theorn, and people will judge you without knowing you on the bassis of one incident. It is something you will learn as you grow up." Her voice is almost, not quite, kindly with this subtle insult. Utterly unruffled. If he thought the others were bad, He's not dealt with Tstar before.

Theorn manages to stop himself making a sarcastic comment when he hears another remark about his age. How long will it take before people learn to judge him by his real self, not what he appears to be?

Tstar eyes Theorn, judging him not by how he looks but by the childish actions she was witness to. "Now, of that offer for a drink and breakfast, will you accept or will you go home and think on your actions, and perhaps adjust your behavior so people do not so readily assume you are a fool."

"Just think 'bout what you're gettin' yourself into. If you think it's wise, the so be it 'cause no one's gonna stop ya 'less you get caught." comes the wise statement of the former healer "And let me jsut tell ya--they're sneaky little tunnelsnakes. They /know/ what you're doin'. Don't ask how... they just do." and how would he know this?

Theorn looks up again, refusing to say anything that can be taken a different way than he means. "I should be going i wouldnt want to cause another incident." a grateful look is passed to N'ano, as he gets up and leaves.

Theorn goes home.
