Not even the fires of Hell shall stay me, nor prevent my return

Gerrod deRacinechilde, legendary Grand Master and founder of the ancient Order of the Knights of The Black Forrest is dead, or so the story goes.

But, stories have many chapters, and although this one appears to be done, in truth it is hardly begun.

A name of legend within the lands of the Dragon Court, founder of the ancient Order of the Knights of The Black Forrest, Queen Beth’s champion for many a decade, weilder of the evil and sentient Mourneblade in the cause of good, Gerrod of the Ruby Hand, Gerrod the Mystic, Gerrod the DragonSlayer, lay dead. Buried in the ruins of the West Tower of the then Citadel of Morning along with his mirrorself they say.

But other legends say differently.

Some have said that Duke 8of11 did not flee the battle that day that resulted in the fall of the Citadel. Some say that he implored the ancient dragon Bahamut, who’s spirit inhabited the body of another of the immortal founders of our order, Rothman Von Delkair, to unearth the remains of the two titanic warriors swiftly while the walls yet held back the main forces of the Unholy Trinity, and these same sources say that Bahamut consented to this. Further, these sources say that 8of11 then fled by horseback in the confusion, bearing away a horribly mutilated and bloodied man of great size across the withers of his horse.

Some say that an old blind seer and his companion now wander the lands of the Dragon Court, and that these two may know more of the truth of these matters. They say that he prophecises the resurection of the Order and the downfall of Abominatus.

It was once said that Drax himself, while raving in the delirium following a dream he had, said that he saw his brother riding a black horse through the fires of Hell itself, bent on returning to destroy him.

Only time will tell.
