War
Within
The War Within is one of the latest sagas of Transformers. Produced by Dream Wave; they have already completed the six issue mini series, by Pat Lee, of the G1 cast. The War Within features the Cybertonian civil war in its infancy, when the Decepticons first began to terrorize Cybertron. Optimus Prime is the new leader of the Autobots and he feels that Cybertron is not worth fighting for, and this comic will show the internal struggle of the new Prime.
The artwork for The War Within is fantastic, it's as if they animated a whole movie, took still-frames, and pasted them in a book. One of the tasks that the artists at Dream Wave had to do was retro fit all of the original G1 cast of Transformers. Remember; The War Within takes place four million years before the Transformers crashed on Earth. No naturally; Optimus Prime would not transformer into an Earth-based vehicle. I can only imagine that must have been a challenge; but fun. Yees.
Writing the War Within is Simon Furman, who wrote many of the original G1 comics back in the 80's.
