Info: Reykjavik is one of the oldest frigates in the Starfleet. It was built well
before the Gorg war begun. These were still used quite a lot in the small
past conflicts, like in the war against Folans, which didn't last for many
days. Reykjaviks did have quite weak shielding and weaponry, but at that
time they were powerful and a big ship and was considered as a medium cruiser
or attack cruiser, still the Reykjavik did have excellent speed. Reykjavik
wasn't seen many times in battle only sometimes. All Reykjaviks were pretty
much decommissioned before the Gorg war, because the so called MkII versions
had replaced them. Still few remained in the fleet, but were either destroyed
or decommissioned in the Gorg war.

Here's a picture of Reykjavik class.

Reactors: Two large Antimatter reactors and Two
Large fusion reactors.
Info: Talar is more an upgraded version of
the Reykjavik. It's
faster, bigger and more powerful than the Reykjavik. Talar was designed about
7 years before the Gorg war, before it, it didn't really serve on any major
conflicts or other events. Still it continued to serve that time. In the
Gorg war it proved to be an excellent addition to the Starfleet. Many Talars
survived from the Gorg war. They also served well in the Dominion war. However
after the Dominion war, Talars started to loose their place in the Starfleet. In
the Lightness war Talars were destroyed a lot, but they still were quite
useful in that, however many of them were also decommissioned during the
war and especially after it. Still, some Talars continue to serve in the
Starfleet, but their position isn't really good and they mostly do quite
unimportant missions.

Here's a picture of Talar.
Gate Class Heavy
Frigate

large fusion reactors.
Info: Gate is even more advanced version
of the Talar and Reykjavik. Gate is a bit faster, bigger, has better shielding,
armor and more weapons. However,
it doesn't have as much fighter space as the Talar. Gate looks a lot like
the Galaxy class, even that they really don't have anything in common, except
the hull design. Gate was designed after the Dominion war, when it was made
as a medium destroyer, but it position went as a frigate when Talars went
out of use, which was after the Lightness war. During Lightness war they
served as a medium destroyers and were quite good against small or medium
sized Lightness ships. Gates still weren't used as an attack ships really,
even that they had good speed. Still they performed certain scout and patrol
missions during the war, but still mostly they were defense ships. Gates
survived well from the Lightness war and were also seen in both GA-IPA and
Emissary conflict, still only few were seen there.
