Lady Liberty

Weak rays fought their way through the rising smoke and landed upon the ashes
The fair lady stepped from her pedestal to the filthy mainland's masses
As she peered out onto the perilous knives, a wound sprang from her side
Gushing forth the countless souls, who from the towers died
Terror and misgivings tore her stature down upon her knees
Lady Liberty ran her fingers through the remains of the freed
Their bodies, now disgraced by the dimming of the light
Were wicked and twisted, an unappealing sight
Saddened liquids flooded her gown, mixing with the statue's wine
As she gave a memorial to cease their time
And while she rose, returning into the morn
Her gown of thousands, caught by the rubble, was torn
This act remained unnoticed as she returned to her stand
Creating uneased hatred in her "one for all" land
