The Reasoning Behind 'creators'

AKA a long and possibly unneeded explanation about the idea behind ‘creators’

History:
‘creators’, first of all, are not gods, or representatives of the all supreme being many religions refer to. They are regular people; they could be your neighbor, the person you see walking his/her dog every day, a co-worker, a teacher, an employee, your boss, anyone. The only thing different from them and you is that they may have an overly active imagination, or, as the Council puts it, ‘high creativity levels.’ That means that these people have such an active imagination that they have the ability to manipulate an unseen world that coexists with Earth, known as Unreality to ‘creators’.

‘creators’ first emerged when man became sentient and onward. Some men found themselves to have the power to enter a world others could not. In this odd world, these men were able to create and destroy things at will. For most of man’s early development, the so-called ‘Able’ shied from this world, fearing its potential and the discrimination that resulted from entering this world.

Later on, many great thinkers of the earlier centuries had the ability to enter this world. They realized the potential power this world gave, and thus were successfully able to keep it secret from the rest of the world, known as the ‘Unable.’

Time passed, and Earth passed from a fairly Utopian era into a disaster waiting to happen. Wars plagued countrysides, and ripped families apart. Other ‘Able’ found that hiding within Unreality brought peace and prosperity, and they stayed. Eventually there were enough ‘Able’ living in Unreality that they created a pseudo-government, known as the Council. Representatives from mapped out districts would come and talk about problems they were having or offer solutions to other representatives. Life, for the most part, was good.

Then, strange things began to occur. People were actually disappearing or dying. This alarmed the Council, and they chanced to take a peek at what was going on in Reality, or Earth. It was in shambles. Wars wreaked havoc on anyone and everyone; there was poverty, famine, and discrimination. The Council was appalled at the state of their former home, and quickly realized something very important: they had the power to go to Unreality for a reason. Somehow, these two worlds were linked, and if one became too unbalanced, the other would suffer. The Council sent a number of their finest ‘creators’ to set things right. Eventually, Reality settled to a relatively tolerable level of chaos; Earth had been left unattended to for so long, a Utopian society was out of the question.

There was a brief calm, and then creativity levels of so-called ‘Realtians’ zoomed off the charts. A new tool became usable by the ‘Unable’, called the Internet. Soon, a whole new world was created by this Internet, known as 'General Unreality' to the Council and other seasoned ‘creators.’ This place was home to a number of Unreal people thought up by ‘Unable Realtians,’ called characters by the Council. The Council granted access to Unreality to these characters, as it was not their fault that their thinker-uppers (the Council decreed that these ‘Unable’ did not have the right to be called ‘creators’) were not ‘Able’.

However, there were some characters whose thinker-uppers were ‘Able.’ The Council set out its finest again to search for these ‘Able’ and bring them to their world of Unreality.

Resources:

In Reality, a ‘creator’ has the ability to open a gateway and enter Unreality. They simply think of opening such a gateway, and it opens. They step through the gateway, and enter Unreality.

In Unreality, a ‘creator’ has a multitude of resources available to them. The simplest is the ability to create someone or something. Most ‘creators’ nowadays create mainly objects to suit their lifestyle in Unreality, only a few create characters; most characters have been granted access to Unreality after their ‘Able’ thinker-upper has passed the Council’s initiation.

And, uh, yeah, a rift opened between the two realms; you know, Reality and Unreality. It was a big thing, lasted a good three months, boosted my staus in GFW to a GM (thank you Jackson!), gave me many-many ego-boosts, made me all warm and fuzzy inside. Dunno what it did for other peeps, but I'm assuming a few enjoyed playing.
