Ben was one of the X5s that escaped. During his time at Manticore, he believe no one protected him and the others. During a march, a locked up X2 scared him and his group. He will tell stories ever since to the other X5s like how the "Nomlies" drained the blood of the ones that didn't make it. When Jack has a seizure, the caretaker gave him a card of "The Blue Lady" and seizures stopped. He began to do services on the highest roof of the Manticore base which he called "The High Place" Ben told Max, Zack, and the others about the "Good Place" where they can do anything they want and be safe forever. When Jack was draged away and killed, it had a bad effect on him and the others. Not long after, they had to catch and unarm a man in the Manticore woods. When they caught the man, they saw a tattoo of a bloody heart. Ben told the group he was an Nomlie and the whole group killed the man.
After the escape, Ben used that training he learn on vitims every where he traveled. He put his barcode on everyone as well. Max caught up with him and killed him because Manticore was coming to put him with the Nomlies. Before he died, Ben talked about "the good place".
