Desert Sylvens

Perhaps out of all the other species of sylven, the Desert Sylven are the most adaptable. Standing between the average heights of 5 to 6 feet and weighing anywhere between 120 to 170 pounds, these sylven can easily pass as being human though, in truth, they are more lithe and graceful than humans. Though they have the beautiful and angular features of the sylven race, their features are just a bit more rounded than the others. Because of this, these sylven can easily disguise themselves as humans if they so wish. It is said that when looking into a Desert Sylven's eyes, a glow as if staring into a low burning furnace can be seen. They always have bronze-like, tanned skin from years of living on the desert sands of Pintar. They have eyes that can range in a variety of colors, but they always seem to have the same color hair that ranges from a sandy blonde all the way to different shades of red, the most extreme being a bright-fieryred as if their hair was in flames.

Desert Sylven are also notorious for their quick mood swings and they often excel in the warrior professions. To fight a Desert Sylven on the desert sands is to be foolish because they are at their best when fighting in deserts. They can bury themselves in the hot sands and spring up in the blink of an eye to launch vicious attacks. Desert Sylven receive a +5%to evade when fighting in the desert. They are also very proficient in the skill of using the bolo and receive a +5% to hit when using it as a weapon.

They are normally nomadic in nature as they always are moving from place to place, though some have been known to settle down in one place. This is one of the reasons why they are more adaptable than the others.

Racial Abilities and Restrictions

• Disguise: Desert Sylven can flawlessly disguise themselves when the need arises.
• Firewalk: Desert Sylven can walk across flames and the majority of burning surfaces and remain unscathed.
• Create Heat: Desert Sylven are able to generate enough body heat to keep themselves, and sometimes others, warm in even the coldest of temperatures.
• Desert Sylven receive a natural 25% soak against any fire damage or fire spells. They do, however, take a +3 damage whenever attacked with any cold or ice-basedattacks.
• Desert Sylven receive a +2 to dexterity.
• Desert Sylven receive a +5% to hit with the bolo.
• When fighting on desert terrain, Desert Sylven receive a +5% to evade.
• Desert Sylven can be any ethic they choose.
• Desert Sylven can choose to be any profession.
• Desert Sylven hair color must range from sandy blonde, red to fiery red.
