Indara
Decades
ago, the lands known as Indara were once a part of Orhn, making it the largest
country in all of Destiny. At the time, most of the people lived primarily upon
the plains while only a few lived the primitive life in the jungles where food
was still plentiful. Life was generally good for all who lived here.
The leadership of this country was based on a tribal form, in which a chief ruled over its people. The northern inhabitants starting moving towards more modern ways while the southern peoples shied away that lifestyle, preferring the more primitive and traditional way of life. Rather than following the direction that all of Orhn was going, the southern part broke off and created the country now known as Indara.
Unlike other countries who have more modernized ways, the actual history of Indara as its own country is short. The people continue to live, based on the more tribal and primitive ways of life. They have chosen the value of simplicity, living deep within the Delua jungle which also negates much threat from other nations because it offers them seclusion (and not to mention the fact not many wish to take an army through a jungle where you have more to worry about than the country's army). Though they are still tribal in nature, Indara has chosen to be ruled by a more holy system involving a ruling priest of priestess. This priest or priestess is usually raised from birth to guide and enlighten the people of Indara. Unlike other countries, those from Indara hold a greater value of the land and what is had to offer, only taking what is needed. Because of this, the Lord Chylde Asylum inadvertently became the patron god since he is the protector of nature and all it encompasses. There is also a rumor that a temple to Chylde resides somewhere within the depths of the Delua jungle though none care to speak of it, feeling that if the god wishes you will find it.
Indara has mainly been known as the land of the "tree huggers" (as some have called it), rangers and druids and priests and priestesses of Lord Chylde, since all work to achieve the same goal: the protection and balance of nature. As with any other country, Indara does have what one would consider an army, Deluakinsa or "Jungle Hunters" in the common tongue. This did deserve a little attention within the history because they are like no other army in all of Destiny. They use the jungle to their advantage, not only their skills, having been very well trained from the moment they enlist.
There have been numerous priests and priestesses who have tried to hold the ruling position of Indara but not have been as well respected as the current ruler, Priestess Duwalla. Though she was raised to be the holy ruler, she did not let all the pampering and attention get the better of her. Her abilities to communicate with the jungle, the land itself is beyond compare. It is even said that with a single word she can calm the most ravaging of beasts. Unlike those before her, Priestess Duwalla rules Indara and its people just as a mother would, their well being her first and only concern.
