Bluehaven
The
country of Bluehaven, a plethora of many islands, originally belonged to the
tide sylvens. Some may ask why for this is one of the more beautiful and
relaxing spots in all of Destiny. The answers are really quite simple: People at
first got everything they needed from the land, no one wished to live so close
to the waters if they did not have to. Everything takes time and very soon, as
populations grew people began to migrate to Bluehaven and its coast. Small
settlements were started through the islands, each specializing in fishing. As
more and more grew fond of the country and came visiting, some of the fishing
soon turned into charters, taking some for tours and others out to fish for
themselves.
The residents of Bluehaven found it a bit difficult to keep up with their guests needs since most everything came out of their own homes. They started to limit the amount of visitors which only caused more people to leave their homes and move to Bluehaven, wanting to be closer to the beauty it held. The end result was to create places where people could stay for as long as they wished while still only visiting. That is how the villages grew into towns, lavish inns and taverns being build to accommodate the tourism.
The opened a whole new industry that could only grow. A very enticing industry as well as many gave up their way of fishing to start what we would call resorts that catered to the guests needs. It started with only one or two and then caught on, resorts and inns springing up all over the inner islands almost covering them completely. This drew in people from all over whether they were dignitaries, rulers, wealthy or just plain in need of a good vacation. They all came to Bluehaven to be spoiled and pampered, forgetting their troubles for a while and just plain enjoying the rest and relaxation they could get.
As stated, most gave up the fishing for a more lavish life though not everyone did. The inner inlands and the mainland were covered with inns the and resorts while the outlaying island stuck to being the fishing villages, still prefer to harvest from the ocean's depths. This brings us to the tide sylvens that once freely roamed where they wished in Bluehaven. Though they still can, most have created North Haven, a city that spans itself not only on land but under the waves of the great sea. Some of the tide sylvens do not fully agree with the beliefs of the southern islands.
Over nine years ago, Aric Graid, a member of the tide sylven community, elected himself ruler of Bluehaven. It came as no surprise when no one opposed him, most of them more worried about their next guest to notice. After all, would you pay it much attention if someone else did all the worrying for you? Before any of the citizens realized it, Sovereign Graid had gone about his way, through the proper channels of course, setting tax rates and passing laws. This awed the citizens of Bluehaven, especially since the laws were beneficial to every resident as well as any guest coming to visit. Though Sovereign Graid has done a lot for the country and citizens of BlueHaven, he is resented by his fellow tide sylvens and worshipped by those that have chosen the resort way of life.
Today, Sovereign Graid resides and rules from a huge tidal palace, built on the red sand beach in Raijgia. He did create an army of sorts, mainly for the general protection since no one could see why someone would wish to destroy such beauty. Though Bluehaven's patron goddess is the Lady Kaylorian, most to not worship her on a daily basis though they will thank her for her blessings upon the beautiful land they call home.
