When/Where did this happen?

After Douglas Engelbart's ideas, which were dismissed until the early 60's, the greatest advancements happened in the 1960's. Aircraft companies tried displaying air flow models on computers. In 1962, Ivan Sutherland created the first ever digital design program called "Sketchpad". Now computers had a use in any field one could imagine.
