Moonstar/Psyche/Mirage
Moonstar (Costume)Moonstar (Normal)

Real Name: Danielle Moonstar. She hasn't been called by her codename in the series, so it could be any one of the three codenames she had at various times throughout the older comic series- Moonstar, Psyche, or Mirage.

Mutant Power: It's a bit unclear in the Evo series as to what exactly her Mutant powers encompass; they're clearly not quite the same as they were in the old comics. She has a form of telepathy in which she can project experiences- or very lucid dreams- into other people's minds, but she doesn't entirely have control over when she does it. She also seems to be able to use a form of this to keep herself in hibernation for an extended period of time, if the need arises.

Voice Actor: Tabitha St. Germain (who also does the voice for Alexis in Armada and Energon)

Guest Appearance: "Ghost of a Chance"

Back Story: As a side effect of Moonstar's inability to completely control her powers, the rest of the population of the small Native American village she lived in as a child eventually all moved away to end the lucid nightmares they would have. Only her grandfather, Black Eagle, remained. One day, Moonstar went hiking in the canyons near the village, but she fell into a small cave and the entrance sealed shut behind her. Unable to find any way out, Moonstar eventually underwent a state of hibernation.
Two years later, Moonstar managed to connect telepathically to Kitty when she inadvertently fell near the site of the cave. They formed a friendship, but only in each other's minds. Kitty eventually managed to get Moonstar out of the cave with the help of other X-Men, and Moonstar went back to her father afterwards.

Personality: Danielle is an extrovert, and enjoys the company of others- especially Kitty, who bonded with her very soon after they psychically "met". She's generally a pretty nice girl, but she hates the fact that she can't control her powers. However, instead of being meek as a result of this and just staying away from other people, Danielle gets a bit frustrated if other people can't deal with the side effects of her powers. A bit understandable, since Danielle has apparently been dealing with this for some time now, but hey, dealing with nightmares happening WHILE YOU'RE AWAKE isn't really a very ideal situation...

Final Reflections: Moonstar was a pretty intriguing character, and I wished she really would have joined the X-Men at the end of her debut episode, so the X-Men would finally have had a new face after more than two full seasons. But really, given that she was introduced so close to the end of the series, she really should've been axed altogether, and the episode that introduced her instead given to exploring the background or character of an underappreciated individual, like Pyro.
