Back Story: Magneto's early years were during the Nazi-persecution days of World War II. He was a Jew in a concentration camp, until Wolverine and Captain America managed to bust him and some others out. Sometime later, he had a short relationship with an unidentified woman, and she gave birth to his fraternal twin children, Pietro and Wanda. Unknown if she died soon afterwards or they split up or something. Anyway, after having some trouble with Wanda and her powers, he sent her off to a max security mental hospital when she was around 7 or 8 or so. Nice guy. However, he always maintained a respectful relationship between him and his son (at least, in Pietro's view), and his son has taken after his ideals of enslaving humanity to make way for Mutants and all that. After Mystique and the Brotherhood he helped organize betrayed him at the end of Season 1, he set out to find some new recruits, and so he did- Colossus, Gambit, Pyro, and eventually Mastermind as well. Sabretooth had joined up with Magneto by his lonesome at the end of Season 1, so there was no need to recruit him... Anyway, he also kept in close touch with Pietro, who was his eyes and ears in the Brotherhood, until his son eventually betrayed the Brotherhood to return to his side. Magneto now has a very competent, well-trained team at his disposal, and his son Pietro has returned to the Brotherhood to rule it in Mystique's absence. Wanda Maximoff, his daughter, was broken out of the hospital by Mystique, and her one-minded quest to kill him was a burden for some time- until he got Mastermind to remove her memories of the mental hospital incident, and now she no longer has a beef with him. Magneto also was friends with Xavier for a time, but their opposing ideals drove them both apart. Additionally, Magneto is older than he looks- he should be nearly 70 now, but he used a device that was part of the top-secret government project "Rebirth" to keep him looking young and fit. Of course, the thing's destroyed now, so he knows he doesn't have THAT much time left... only 40 years or so. Whee.

Personality: Magneto's a bad guy. A really bad guy. He's the leader of the bad guys, in fact. He wants to enslave humanity because he thinks they are inferior to Mutants (if you can't see the irony of his viewpoint here, I'll have to smack you). He also mostly just looks out for Number One, although he puts on a pretty convincing charade of caring for his teammates- but in the end, they're just a means to achieve his goal. He's never had a real emotional attachment to either of his children- Wanda's a burden, and Pietro's useful as controlling the Brotherhood, but he views them as little else. Not a very caring guy, there. He maintains a rather respectful rivalry with Xavier, despite their completely opposing viewpoints. Rather odd, that. Otherwise, he hates anyone who isn't loyal to him.

Final Reflection: Magneto was one of the few main characters in Evolution where I'd have to say that most of the other versions are better. He was just so obviously evil when compared to the older version; his voice, his looks, his demeanor, everything. I was surprised he got as many willing recruits as he did (which wasn't many), with the way he acts all the time. I think his personality would've been more suited to a character like Apocalypse, who just wants to kill a lot of people anyways.
