Duncan
Duncan

Full Name: Duncan Matthews

Mutant Power: N/A; Duncan's a regular human.

Voice Actor: Vincent Gale

First Appearance: "Strategy X"

Back Story: Duncan was a star football player at Bayville High. He'd always been at odds with Scott, mostly because they both wanted Jean as their girlfriend. Duncan eventually won Jean over for a while- until it was revealed that the X-Kids were all Mutants. He then tried to use her mind powers for cheating on tests and the like, and she promptly broke up with him. Since then, he's been bent on getting the Mutants out of Bayville. After he graduated from High School, he took up a job as a miner outside Bayville. However, as a result of using some mining gadgets to hunt down some Mutants with his buddies, Duncan is now behind bars.

Personality: Okay, I'll admit it. Duncan's a jock stereotype, completely and totally. He was one of the most popular people in school while he was there, in addition to being involved in many different sports teams. He's also a jerk. Now that he realizes that Scott gets Jean and not him, he's been doing his best to make life miserable for all the Bayville Mutants associated with them. Meh.

Final Reflections: Duncan really didn't have much character depth besides "jerk jock", but his presence in the series is still appreciated. He gave the X-Men a peer, non-Mutant character that was essentially an enemy, and the series clearly showed how if you're popular, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're a good person. (Indeed, most likely it was the opposite.)
