Darien Mcquinn, 'Peacekeeper'

Darien is the current Seeker. He is the Bearer of "Peacekeeper" at this time, and for a long time to come....

History
At the age of 8, Darien was orphaned when his parents were massacred. He escaped with his life by chance, as he did not come home when he was supposed to. When Darien came home, he saw the knight leaving after killing his parents.

Running to the house, he found his dead parents. Grabbing what he could, mainly food and his family heirloom, an ancient Claymore, he fled. He could not understand why his parents, who were merchants, would be killed.

After that, it was life on the street. An old thief by the name of Zeldar took him in, showed him how to survive. Zeldar turned out to be a war hero from the Rainwall War. He began training Darien in the arts of war.

At the age of 11 Darien was already proficient with the stilleto, it being the one weapon that could go through a knights armor and light enough he could use it. He was consumed with revenge. He learned all he could about the ways of the assassin. He learned about poisons, and the next weapon he mastered was the light crossbow. That was about the same time that he learned who was responsible for his parents death. They had been killed for political reasons, after thwarting some dark plan. Darien was infuriated. He threw himself into his studies, insisting Zeldar teach him to use his family Claymore, even though he was barely strong enough to hold it one handed.

When he was 15, Darien attacked the cleric who had arranged his parents death. He slew him single handedly, using his Claymore. The day of his 16th birthday, he backstabbed the knight who had cut down his parents, and the poison did it's job. After that, it was hit and run as he one by one killed off everyone that had been involved with the organization who had his parents killed.

After that, he was unsure what to do with himself. He was around 18 by this time, and the only goals he ever had in life were already accomplished. After what had happened to him, he went on a crusade against evil. He began to roam the wildlands that were notorious for being filled with bandits. He would track down a band, and slowly pick them off. Once he got them to the point he felt he could take them alone, he attacked with his family weapon. It was the Claymore known as Ellyi-Kirradon. "Peacekeeper".

After a couple of years of this, Darien was approached by a group of Rangers. It seemed a Druid had been watching him, and wanted to know why he did what he did. Darien had no good explanation, merely that he hated evil. The Druid, it seems, was impressed with Darien's skill and fervor.

It was about another 10 years before anyone from the Druids contacted Darien. The Rangers knew of him, and the were on friendly terms. They asked him to join them on may occasions, but he never did. Until the Shadow War, that is.

Strange creatures began to fill the forest. They fought the Rangers many times. No one had ever heard of them before. They were just there one day, and vicious. Darien followed some for a while, not sure how to fight them. He picked a couple off, testing to see how the poison would affect them. It worked. He was glad of that.

Then the Rangers came to him again. They had the same Druid with them that they had before, though he seemed much older now. In his right hand he carried a magnificent staff. Atop it was a globe, apparently of the planet. It was complete with swirling clouds, and small orbs circled the globe. Moons. Darien recognized it as the mythical "Staff of the Moons", said to be carried by the most powerful Druid, the Keeper of Amordian. Darien was astounded.

This Druid, the Keeper, was again interested in Darien. Only this time he needed help. No one was sure how to deal with this new threat. The Druids had no record of anything like this before. They wanted his help. He was to find the source of the problem, and if at all possible, eliminate it. Darien agreed.

Darien was given leadership over a small group. Though small, they were the best the Druids, Knights and the Rangers had to offer. Small enough to sneak, yet powerful enough to do the job. They hoped.

After many months of searching and destroying those he had to in order to continue, Darien found the source. There was a clan of Shadow Dragons, not a species native to Amordian, who had decided the realm looked ripe for picking. There was an Archmage, and a powerful Cleric amongst the group. They had been creating many of these monsters from the Plane of Shadow. Darien led his small party in, and they fought their way through the Shadow Dragon's land. Many were heavilly wounded, but many more dragons lay dead. The Druid healed as much of the party as he could. That is when Darien became interested in becoming a Druid. Finally, a purpose for his life.

After the last Shadow Dragon lay dead at their feet, the Druid sealed off the portal the dragons had been using. It lay far underground, and no one feared it being discovered by anyone.

Darien then went in search of the Druid's hidden fortress, deep in the mountains beyond the Dragon Claw mountain range. They were surprised when he found the castle, as few ever try, and fewer succeed. He asked for an audience with the Keeper. The Keeper agreed. Ever since Darien has held the title of "Seeker". He searches out the cause of any threat to the land of Amordian. And destroys it.
