The A-Wing is the fastest starfighter in the galaxy, and is used as the Alliance's main interceptor fighter. Enemy fire can easily destroy an A-Wing, so pilots must rely on the fighter's speed to survive combat. For weaponry, each vessel has two laser cannons, and some are often equipped with two short-ranged concussion missile launchers to cause more damage. The A-Wing also has a sensor-jamming array that can disrupt enemy readings and communications, so they can attack and escape before the enemy can call in reinforcements. Although they were originally used to defend Rebel bases from Imperial raids, the A-wing fighters became more useful in "hit-and-fade" attacks. They used their exceptional speed to attack enemy vessels then flee before enemy squadrons could be scrambled. |

Designed to attack large Imperial capital ships, the B-Wing is the Alliance's most powerful heavy-assault starfighter. Admiral Ackbar designed the B-Wing with help from engineers from the Verpine Slayn and Korpil colonies. The B-Wing's ion cannons and proton torpedo launchers are linked to give maximum firepower against a single target. The weapon mounting points are modular, so the auto-blasters, laser cannon and ion cannons can be reconfigured easily by a technician. |

The Corellian Corvette is a multi-purpose vessel that can be configured as a light escort vessel, a troop carrier, a cargo freighter or a passenger liner. Transport vessels are configured to haul a specific cargo, and usually only need a crew of 30. Military vessels however lose most of their cargo space to sublight engines, shield generators and weaponry, and require a crew of at least 165. The Alliances corvettes are configured to be slow but tough, and are normally armed with at least six turbolasers. The Corellian Corvettes are also used by smugglers, because they are so common and can be easily modified to be extremely fast. |

The E-Wing was designed by the former Incom Corporation designers who created the X-Wing space superiority fighter. Like the A-Wing, the E-Wing is designed to protect New Republic convoys from Imperial attack. The New Republic's pilots were very impressed by its speed and fire power. Its primary weapons are three fire-linked laser cannons, and its proton torpedo launcher makes it an excellent medium assault and close-support fighter. An E-Wing can severely damage capital ships and military bases, and they sometimes replace B-Wings when a faster alternative is needed. The E-Wing is as fast and manoeuvrable as the Imperial TIE Interceptor, and it can take more damage than an X-Wing. |

The Mon Calamari Cruisers are durable ships that are the main cruisers used in the New Republic fleet. The cruisers were designed as civilian pleasure cruisers, but were converted into military vessels after the Mon Calamari were attacked by the Empire. Standard MC80 cruisers carry three squadrons of starfighters, and are armed with 48 turbolasers, 29 ion cannons and 6 tractor beam projectors. Also, the Mon Calamari cruisers have extremely powerful shields which can be replaced quickly during combat. The Mon Calamari cruisers are as fast and as tough as the Imperial Star Destroyers, and some Imperial commanders have even admitted that they are superior capital ships. |

Many Nebulon-B escort frigates were used in the Rebel fleet. The Nebulon-B was originally designed by the Empire to combat Rebel starfighters that had attacked many vulnerable Imperial convoys. The Alliance acquired many of these vessels when they were captured by Rebel forces. The Nebulon-B frigates are 300 metres long and there standard weaponry consists of 12 turbolaser batteries, 12 laser cannons and often 2 tractor-beam projectors. With its extensive weaponry and the ability to carry two squadrons of starfighters the Nebulon-B is the deadliest medium-size combat vessel. As larger vessels came into the Rebel fleet, the Nebulon-B frigates were converted into command, reconnaissance and medical ships. |

The Rebel Transports play a very important role in the Alliance fleet, carrying supplies to Rebel soldiers. The transports were acquired by converting old freighters that would be considered useless to anyone else. The Gallofree Yards Medium Transport can haul 19,000 tons of equipment, and are only 90 metres long. Cargoes include weapons, fuel, food, medicine and spare parts. The transport has a hyperdrive, a defelector-shield generator and a repulsorlift drives for landing. They are usually armed with only 4 twin laser cannons and rely on sensors and advanced counter-measures to avoid enemies. |
|
Snowspeeders are modified T-47 airspeeders that were used to defend Hoth when it was attacked by Imperial AT-AT walkers. They fly using two repulsorlift drives and high-powered afterburners, and use braking flaps to increase manoeuvrability. Snowspeeders dont have shields, but are small and fast enough to avoid incoming fire. Snowspeeders are fitted with heavy armour plating and twin laser cannons, and can reach speeds exceeding a thousand kilometres per hour. When not being used for combat, the Alliance uses airspeeders for reconnaisance and cargo hauling. |

The X-Wing starfighter was desinged for the Alliance just before Incom Corporation was seized by the Empire, and its name derives from the position of its wings during combat. The X-Wing is armed with 4 laser cannons, one on each wingtip, and two proton torpedo launchers which carry a total of six torpedoes. The X-Wing is protected by a high-powered sheild generator and a reinforced titanium alloy hull. The X-Wing is an extraordinary starfighter, famous for its role in the Battle of Yavin. |
|
The Y-Wing is a multi-purose vessel, although it is most often used as a light bomber. The Y-Wing excels at close-range combat, and can endure more damage than most other starfighters. The Y-Wing's weaponry consists of two laser cannons, an ion cannon and two proton torpedo launchers. The Y-Wings did not fare as well as the X-Wings in the Battle of Yavin. |
