Protoss Buildings

This is a complete description of each of the Protoss buildings. Each of the Protoss buildings consists of a framework and an energy shield, which protects the building. The energy shield slowly auto-repairs itself, but if the framework is damaged, it cannot be repaired in any way. All the buildings need power to function. Building a pylon next to them provides the power. None of the Protoss buildings can fly. As a special ability, all of the Protoss buildings (and units) have a Plasma Shield, which can be upgraded at the Forge.
The Nexus has the exactly same function as the Terran Command Center. It is here that your Probes are created for further use. The Probe is the unit, which gathers minerals and vespene gas.

Nexus Cost: 400 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 750/750

Requirements: None.

This building provides you with 9 psi.

The Pylon produces energy to all the other buildings. If a building isn't close to a Pylon, it isn't of any value. The Photon Cannons won't even shoot at any opponents if the Cannons don't have any energy supplies from a Pylon.

Pylon Cost: 100 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 300/300

Requirements: None.

This building provides you with 8 psi.

The Assimilator is built upon a Vespene Geyser. When built, the Probes can gather the vespene gas.

Assimilator Cost: 100 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 450/450

Requirements: None.

The Gateway is home for the Zealots, the Dragoons and the High Templars. Many other buildings require this building to be built.

Gateway Cost: 150 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 500/500

The Forge gives you some opportunities to upgrade your units. It also makes it possible to build Photon Cannons, which are crucial for the defense.

Forge Cost: 150 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 550/550

Requirements: Nexus.

Level 3, req.Templar Archives: 400 Minerals, 400 Vespene Gas.

The Photon Cannon is the ultimate building for defense in Starcraft. It can shoot both air and ground units, and it is also a detector. It deals 20 hit points of damage to both air and ground units. The biggest disadvantage of this building is that it's very weak and it's easy to destroy it.

Photon Cannon

(detector) Cost: 150 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 100/100

Requirements: Forge.

The Cybernetics Core is the place where you upgrade your air units' armor and weapons. Many of the advanced buildings require this building.

Cybernetics Core Cost: 200 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 500/500

Requirements: Gateway.

Air Weapons Upgrades:

Level 1: 100 Minerals, 100 Vespene Gas.

Level 2, req.Fleet Beacon: 175 Minerals, 175 Vespene Gas.

Level 3, req.Fleet Beacon: 250 Minerals, 250 Vespene Gas.

Air Armor Upgrades:

Level 1: 150 Minerals, 150 Vespene Gas.

Level 2, req.Fleet Beacon: 225 Minerals, 225 Vespene Gas.

Level 3, req.Fleet Beacon: 300 Minerals, 300 Vespene Gas.

Singularity Charge: 150 Minerals, 150 Vespene Gas.

The Shield Battery is unique to the Protoss species. It has an energy field, which automatically recharges over time. This energy can be used to recharge a Protoss unit energy shield. The unit uses as much of the energy to recharge its own shield as it needs. Each energy point restores two of the shield points. Almost no one uses this building on battle.net.

Shield Battery Cost: 100 Minerals, 0 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield/energy: 200/200/200

Requirements: Gateway.

The Shuttle, the Observer and the Reaver are warped in at this building.

Robotics Facility Cost: 200 Minerals, 200 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 500/500

Requirements: Cybernetics Core.

The most of the Protoss air force is warped in at this building. This implies the Scout, the Carrier and the Arbiter.

Stargate Cost: 250 Minerals, 150 Vespene Gas.

Hit points/shield: 600/600
