    The Corellian class Corvette was the first ship seen in the Star Wars Trilogy. As such it has a special position in the minds of many people. So I knew that I had to include this ship on my site. So here it is.

    This was the easiest ship, by far, to determine the weapon compliments of. They're clearly showcased in both the ICS and in the opening scene of ANH. The four Light Turbolasers are mounted on the top surface of the vessel on the four large bumps, which we learn from ICS can also serve as large armed escape pods. The two twin Medium Turbolasers are even more obvious then the Light Turbolasers. One each is mounted on the ventral and dorsal surfaces. They can be clearly seen in the movies and in ICS.

    The Corellian class Corvette is a very well balanced design. The only true weak spot would be from fighters attacking the ventral surface. The ventral surface is only covered by the single dual MTL, not the best anti fighter weapon ever built, and so would be vulnerable to small craft and projectile weapons. But this should be compensated for by the small size of the Corvette. It should be possible for the ship to roll quickly as needed and therefore bring the better armed dorsal surface to bear.

    But other then that the weapons cover all arcs fairly evenly. The Medium Turbolasers can fire in almost all arcs and so are extremely effective. The Light Turbolasers have a more restricted firing arc but are still useful weapons. Two can fire in each major arc, and can fire in every direction except aft and "down."

    So both MTLs can be fired to the side, as well as two of the LTLs. Both MTLs can also be fired forward and the two leading LTLs can also fire forward.
