
Neverfear’s Curse
It is a Curse that runs in the blood of any member of Neverfear’s family- the Curse of a dream, a nightmare! It usually starts bothering a child about the age 7. The child will start having a dream about something following him- always just beyond the edge of sight. Slowly as the child matures, so does the dream. It gets ‘longer’ and eventually will end with the child, now person, doing acts of evil ambition. The person will wake up feeling great joy at these deeds he dreamed he did and will sometimes confuse them with reality. Yet when he is awake the person will feel great shame at these horrible deeds he took joy at, even so he will be tempted to commit them and similar dreams. That is the Curse, If the person does not resist the temptation of following in the footsteps of the dream, he will become the person in the dream- a horrible monster of unequal ambition and cruelty.
Scribing Illuminations
Illuminations are paintings done on parchment with acid and other types of ink. You use both the brush and the ink pen, often previously prepared (along with the ink) by the scribe’s assistant. The scribe also knows how to do this but usually has not enough time to do it all. Then there are the Illuminations themselves. They look like chaos of lines, shapes, and strange and elongated plants and animals. Yet to look closely and follow the lines and figures, one would find an amazing order in it, each line thought out before it was placed ending up with them all intertwined in a perfect fashion.
So a picture, yet what of the meaning? Illuminations have power locked behind their lines and shapes. With an Illumination the scribe can bind something to a person, the earth or place; summon things/people from other places; turn men into almost cunning animal fighters; and many other things. A scribe can kill thru his Illumination. He can enter a battle and fight along side the men that are dieing there. A scribe can die if another scribe is fighting them thru one of their own Illuminations.
Neverfears’s Personality
Neverfear is afraid of strangers. He does not like them and will do his best at avoiding them. He can be ill tempered some times but normally is in a bit of an almost playful mood. He does not like being touched. Anyone touching him will get a hiss and a snarl and a quick drawn away in return. Neverfear always has this feeling that someone is following him, just beyond his sight (a side affect of the Curse). Those who gain his trust will keep it (unless his alignment changes) but it is very hard to gain his trust.
