Band Bio.

It started in 2001 when Joe Kirk received his first guitar, a Squire Stratocaster. Learning to play quickly while receiving private lessons he decided to expand his music scene and team up with friend and drummer Kevin Hymans. Kevin started playing drum set at the age of 11. Together the two friends played pop-rock songs. After reaching the high school level their eyes were opened to a whole new level of music. The two decided that they would do there best to expose the people to the underground world of metal. Now the only thing stopping them was the lack of fellow performers. Soon discovering bassist and metal specialist John Kennedy the new-formed band was forged. After a short while Joe and John discovered singer Ryan Gilpatrick who has gone as far as State select chorus. Together the new-formed band took serious time to write their own original line up for the band’s debut CD. The band tried their first original song at town event battle of the band in front of hundreds of people. After this early milestone they performed one more concert at their local high school performing Metallica, Korn, Megadeath, and Dreamtheater, mixing metal’s roots with its new genre. Afterwards Orcus picked up new rhythm guitarist Brian Maisch and look forward to recording their first upcoming CD named Beginning due to release sometime in the winter.
