The course covers hardware and software topics which will help information systems students gain the necessary knowledge to resolve technical problems and also enable them to communicate effectively with technical specialists.

It was felt that the curriculum in undergraduate computer science courses cover limited topics on computer hardware and system software technology which deal exclusively on specific subjects.  It is intended that the contents of the textbook will provide supplementary reading in topics relating to networks, application development software, and system administration.
